I think he dealt with it a lot better than other staff handle feedback.

 

I guess this would be a good time to talk about Giddy.

I've been meaning to say this for a long time, but I've never come around to it. I remember when you were a sectional, you were so active, and you were a great moderator. When you were promoted to a global moderator position, I was happy considering all the great work you've done. You were doing a good job, but I guess the activity just died? During my tenure on staff I've barely seen you do behind-the-scenes work, and not much around the forum. It looks like you do the bare minimum just to retain your moderator position. I remember when you and I teamed up doing the 40 pages spam reports, you stated "this should do it for the month," and I don't think you did much the rest of the month. I've seen you spend more time in the spam forum than I've seen you moderating. I'd just like to see your activity increase, you're a wonderful moderator, but doing enough reports to reach the quota shouldn't cut it.

Sorry if this sounded harsh, I'm trying to speak my mind out, and I just wanted to post something constructive. This is in no way trying to bash Giddy.

 

As Wulf said, I and im sure him do not mean to attack Giddy in any way, It's just honest feedback, And yes i may not be a old member but in my few months here i have honestly seen alot of inactivity and neglecting of Duties by Giddy, And the purpose of speaking out and saying something is so other people will sound there honest opinions without being scared, And by Doing the little you can you are able to hold onto the Global position, It shouldn't be about doing the bare minimum, You were promoted for a reason im sure, And it's just concern since quite a few people have spoken about this.

 

Regarding Giddy:

For something many of you know little to nothing about, you sure are quick to jump down his throat. Giddy has always been, in terms of activity and fulfilling his duties, one of the most consistent moderators on Sythe. Since when does it reflect poorly on staff to frequent the spam forum?

Giddy was one of the most active Globals in the dispute section, too, by the way. It's honestly embarrassing to see some of you attack him for doing the "bare minimum" to get by, when, in actuality, you have absolutely zero evidence to support such a ridiculous claim.

Keep up the good work, Giddy.

 

That post summed up everything I've seen since his unban, am I missing anything? Yeah, Giddy has always been fulfilling his activity requirement, but I've usually seem him get the minimum amount required, which is the point on my post; that shouldn't cut it. When did I say that it reflects poorly on staff to frequent the spam forum? I said he spends more time in there than moderating, that's concerning.

Really? I haven't seen him active in there for awhile. I even stated I wasn't trying to bash Giddy, you're taking my words out of context. Considering I have worked with Giddy, I think some of my claims are correct. I've barely seen him work BTS, and looking at his previous posts, it looks like his last moderator action(s) date back to a month.

Like I've said, I'm not trying to attack Giddy, I'm just trying to post some constructive criticism.

 

I think mod scores should be public.

I agree with Blupig, if modscores were public people would be able to see which staff members actually are active, and who isn't. That way there will be no guessing as to whether or not its all "behind the scenes" or not.

 

That would be nice, would help everybody gauge the activity of the mods too.

 

Making modscores public would be a great idea.

 

Behind the scenes stuff doesn't really count towards mod scores....

 

I don't agree. I Think that's part of the staff lounge because if someone was demoted that would cause more drama.

 

No, it would just make everything into a popularity contest.

 

I'm not that bothered with mod scores being made public, although as Gohan said it could turn it into a competition so I think it's better they stay within the staff lounge.

Exactly how?

 

Most people will give the person with the most logs more credit/attention, thinking they did ALL of the work, when in fact the Staff is a team and there will be times where some of the team will feel like they aren't getting the credit they deserve.

 

I don't think that would happen. It's not like there's one name on the list. If I see the list, I'll give the person on top praise for working hard that month, but I would appreciate the staff individually/wholly, as well.

 

That's because you know how it works, whereas most other newer members will completely disregard the other staff members. I've seen it happen.

 

I think it's self-explanatory, it's not like everyone just sees one name on the list. Where have you seen it happen?

 

It's all fun and well discussing ideas but please post a suggestion thread. The staff feedback isn't for discussion of ideas.
