[denied] Prevent users from posting while an OPEN scammer report against them

Pretty straight forward suggestion.

I have seen countless times people with an open report on them and the accused just keep bumping all their threads going about business while little johhny nome is getting ripped off for 200$.

Simply restrict their view of the rest of the forum until the scammer report has been dealt with, i understand there is a DNT that "helps" with this situation. But with all honesty if you have an open scam report against you your focus should be on that not and not able to be bumping a random thread.

Why would they be ‘bumping’ a random thread if it ain’t theirs? That’d be considered spam anyways unless they just contribute to the discussion.

It’s also a good thing they don’t get slapped with a DNT right ahead, imagine the possibilities of beating the competition by just making a scam report on someone just to prevent them from posting/bumping. Keep in mind people can report anonymously as a guest.

 

When there's overwhelming proof that someone committed a scam, a preemptive DNT is usually given as soon as the report opens up. It would be kind of counterproductive to slam someone with a preemptive DNT (and frustrate their business) when there is very little evidence of the scam. This would only result in abuse. Like President says, it can be harming/annoying to their business when staff are giving out DNT to anyone having a business owner's name in their report title. Creates unnessacry reasons to give out DNT, when they don't deserve a DNT. Could be unfortunate to have someone visit your profile and see your DNT upon a trade or alike, while it takes staff up to 5 days to answer the reports (just random time, but I've seen some going up to do that amount), Could be overwhelming amounts of reports or whatever.

In the end, it shouldn't be given handed-out unless it's really proven and makes sense to do so and also because of the advantages it can be used with making reports via guest account as a competitor.

 

Yeah this would definitely get abused. And the staff will have to be the ones to take care of it.

I get what you're saying via the title of the thread, a lot of the time even when a scam report is made they are not DNT'ed instantly (obviously lol..) so I think maybe if it was a possibility we could have like a bot or something to do that? Not sure how we would go about it.

I'm in a yes and no situation, at least until further information could be given on what we could do to have it happen or not.

 

It's not just "bumping their threads" its being able to PM "newcomers" or other members and being able to scam them as well before they get wind of a scammer report against them, aka no DO NOT TRADE rank under their username yet.
And im not talking about those random reports that are like hey i just got scammed by worthy services (ends up being a obvious imposter) im talking about the threads that actually have pictures/evidence that 99% of the time happen while a mod / admin are online and more then 50% of the time where a mod/admin open and look at the report and just go on about their day. (ive seen mods viewing threads right after they were posted and not respond / do anything)

You guys jump through hoops when big time donators post scam reports but if little joe smo with 12 posts a scam report they have to collect the UID / proof of PM / proof of their dick size and date of birth before you actually do anything.aka took about 4 reports against runemetrix before anything was done.

with all due respect, sometimes its too late. your able to quickly view a report and be like oh fuck this guy might be scam quitting lets quickly toss a DNT rank on him so he cant PM and try to scam more.

what about the ones who have a open report against them and continue to pm users before they get hit with the DNT rank to try and scam more people. aka scam quits. it can be prevented better.

its a hard but easy solution, a mod views scammer reports almost instantly (at least one of them) it takes literally 2 minutes to be like yup this is fucking sketchy lets toss a DNT before they scam quit more aka topmax aka runemetrix aka endless fucking list.. mods might whine a bit but maybe their needs to be a @Tag whatever mod is currently online (cause some hide their online status)

I will admit, in such cases like that it's clear the guy is a wrongen. It's a shame that he decided to do even more damage in terms of scamming people after being welcome backed and all as well :\ , I have always said and I always will... You earn more, and it's even more rewarding earning it the right way. It may take longer, but its better that way.

If you're in the Sythe community discord server. You'd see things like this. But usually, by the time this comes out, they've been given a DNT.

This sounds like a great way to troll people by getting them automatically muted by posting scam reports on them.

As long as there are enough staff online to view a scam report and act on it then usually that's enough. Ensuring that there are a reasonable enough number of staff in different timezones around the world is the best solution for this.
