Allow DNT to PM staff

Most of you who have never been DNT should know that DNT are not allowed to PM anyone on the forums for good reasons of course however I believe DNT should be able to PM staff for any questions, follow up on things, etc.

Not sure if this can even be done but would be a nice change for us to be able to communicate to staff directly from the forum instead of discord.

 

I vaguely remember a suggestion that was similar to this one last year. I believe it was denied. I can see it going both ways, where someone like yourself would use it correctly, but others would use it to troll staff members. If your only concern is getting staffs attention, then the best way is discord, not on here.

 

I can see DNT users abusing this and spamming mods. Staff have their Discords listed. They can pm us there.

They could but that would just push them further away from wanting to resolve their DNT. Instead of giving them the option to abuse the PM systen (when Discord is the better way to communicate anyways), it's not worth implementing in the first place (in my opinion).

The fact that Sythe mods are telling users to utilize a different platform to talk to them is completely absurd. This is a forum....where people talk. I was DNT'd in 30 minutes without even being able to respond to the case, then forced to reach out on Discord for ANY response.

@Yoshiki NEVER responded on Disc after I asked for information on the DNT that HE gave me. I messaged him twice almost a month ago on 7/13.



Although the reasoning was complete shit, I was only ever able to get a response from @Zora, and that was much appreciated (I do not hold this reasoning against him one bit). Following up on another platform is a joke - may as well close the site and use the Sythe Discord as your main hub if that's the case.

If you're a mod who is being "trolled" on the forums, just ban the user. You all are trigger happy with that button already so why not.

No support. Communicate with the available sources that we have currently. All this would do is get abused.

 

I would support based on the ground that staff don't really respond, but at the same time it happens with those trying to pardon and reach out for additional feedback that we have been told we can also do and don't get replies to.

I understand however staff are extremely busy at times and sometimes forget to message us back, that's just part of human nature we get side tracked. Maybe we could do something like depending the reason behind the pm give them a place they can post things and wait for responses or something that isn't a dm, and can be approached by any staff member, like how say osbot and even powerbot did back in the day with ban appeals.

Support, although I'm not sure if this prehistorian website system could make that possible. It'll be used same way as Discord DM's though, highly doubtm any staff members would respond (or respond in a way it has any use for them to respond)

At this point the user can just be banned though. If they are spamming mods and abusing the PM system then they aren't serious about being pardoned to begin with.

I agree with @Wortel though. It may not be possible with this forum since it is a lot older.

 

I can see this being abused and just adding extra work load onto mods, however... Not everyone uses Discord, one thing that may be worth looking at is adding this option for administrators+, I'm not sure how easy this would be though given how Sythe works.
