Outdated vB...

I noticed that you are running 3.6.4 when the latest stable release of the vB3 series is 3.8.4... You might want to consider an upgrade to avoid hacking. vB is the most used by large forums so hackers gravitate to it. Displaying that you are running an old version of it is asking to be hacked.

Just a suggestion. I've been on forums that have been exploited before.

 

This has been suggested before, and denied plenty of times. I can't quite remember why, but it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Ah. Well in that case, I imagine the site owners know best.

I guess that SA runs on vB 2. =P

 

It will happen when it needs to happen, hacking isn't much of an issue (the only way members get hacked on here are viruses and phishers).

 

Here are the top reasons I can think of why not:
- Costs money for the newest (which is actually 4)
- The admins cba to transfer everything over and redo the modifications
- Some people will complain since they're used to the old one

I'd love it if we upgraded to the newest version though, which will most likely not happen anytime soon.

As matthew said many a time, there are so many modifications already in use that it'd take a huge period of time to adapt each and every one of them, not to mention there'd be bugs etc etc.

 

Sythe isn't interested in upgrading.
