RIP to him, but these olympics are massive corporate welfare scheme, turning native land into ski resorts, forcing vancouver residents homeless into victoria, selling more sweatshop products for corporate profits, not to mention the millions of more appropriate things that the budget could have been spent on..

for those of you who said *why didn't they pad those* he was going 92 MPH and if you saw the vid, he hit the thing with his neck. even with lots of padding he would have snapped his neck and died. This really blows and was a sad start for the olympics.

Now on the other hand why the hell did these canadians put support beams there? it's only so they can have an upstairs to watch which was a terrible design plan considering this was near a sharp turn

They shortened the course, and put a wall up on that turn.

 

You people are ignorant for mourning over somebody you personally don't know just because they were going to an overhyped event in which the people of the world get payed to dedicate there life to something so shallow such as sports. Don't flame me either, there are much bigger things in life than sports and on the face of things, 107 people die every minute and he was just another one of them.

 

How are we ignorant? A death's a death. This guy spent pretty much his entire life training for this and was finally about to live his dream.

The Olympic committee designed/approved the course, so it really isn't Canada's fault (we rule).
