Just an idea, but what if we changed our posting system to something similar to http://rsbot.org. On their forum when a person posts 2 or more times in a row, it combines them all into one. I think this is a good idea, because it would reduce spam a lot and other shit like that.

    Yes or No?

Yeah, sounds good, alot of people be double posting nd shit on purpose, but it'd be hard to bump a thread? If they combined into one would it still bump it?

I don't support the bump button. Threads will be bumped all the time and it's just pointless. I agree with Rawr though. It'd stop excessive spam and would help with the spam reports.

I support, it wouldn't be a bad addition to sythe.

Bump buttons generally have a limit on how many times you can bump a thread per day. Like maybe once every 24 hours.

The post combination mod can be set with a certain time limit. i.e. Double posts by the same user within x amount of time will merge.

This way a bump button wouldn't need to be implemented. The issue with this is a lot of time active forums need more bumping so the mod would have to be tailored for various forums.

I like both ideas and bump buttons work wonderfully when implemented with a delay timer until your next bump.

Won't really improve anything, but it's more logical. I have this option set on my MSN, and on the community I created. There's probably already an add-on for it on vB if it's not already in the settings.

Double-post merging is a good idea. It's worked on other forums I've been on and I don't see how it wouldn't cut back on spam here.

A bump button would need big time limits or Sythe could go out of control. I hope you all realize that.

I don't think there's a need for a 'Bump Button', because on RSBot, when posting like this, it bumps your thread without doing a double post.

That would just allow them to bump their threads constantly without anyone noticing, putting this and a limited bump button would fix it completely

Maybe once every 12 hours on the bump button and double post merge doesn't bump.
