Long time no see my bros and h...sisters. How's the community going?

1100 users online right now of which 90% are guests. I don't remember the numbers of the past remembered them as way higher but maybe it was all just a dream. Online seems a bit low tho.

Anyways, how's it going. All good in the hood? Sales blooming, discussions sparkling?

 

It's sad to see people are misbehaving and being disrespectful against other members. Posted a little joke thread in the spam forum and immediately got attacked and spammed.

The spam forum was created by admin Stephanie upon request by me and backed by a few other mods back in the day and was intended to be a place where you can just joke around post memes doing story games or whatever. Posts considered 'spam' that is was not supposed to count against your post count. Now it's toxic and out of control place where people literally spam.

It's sad to see a once so blooming and wonderful community turned a wild west of the internet. At least I hope trades are going good and people are not getting scammed.

I try to check in a few times a year just to see things still running. Sythe.org will always have a special place in my heart.

Shout out to Richard @Sythe for still running this place after all these years. He's a true hero for the RS black market and cheating community. Never thought i'd visit the same site at 14 and at 30 years old. It's truly and amazing experience and it's all thanks to Richard (Sythe) himself. (Unless he sold it and someone else is hiding behind that name )


EDIT: I just got confirmed by mods that harassing people is ok and to be expected on the spam forum and that it has lost all the meaning it had when it was created. I guess I can't complain when resigned and left this place in other peoples hands. This is what can happen.

 

Welcome back. I don't think that despite your claims of having 'founded' the Spam Forum you have any control over how it is now. It's been a place of toxicity for as long as I can remember and there's nothing that's gonna change it. As for Sythe he's not very active, nor has he been running the forum for as long as I know him - credits mostly go to current and past staff for that.

Either way, good to see your face again. I don't know you, but I have seen your name in quite a couple of posts I've seen. Thank you for all the input you've had on this forum.

Let me feel like I have accomplished something in life! And y'all ruined it! I'm just kidding of course. Spam is spam it just wasn't our original intention.

Sythe.org trivia time: I and some members liked what admins called 'list threads'. Admins did not like people got their post count up too easy by listing their 5 favourite foods or doing a continuous story thread. I came up with the solution in the form of a forum section that wouldn't count towards posts. With support of Admins and lack of better name the 'Spam forum' was created and everyone was happy.

And with fear of Sythe slapping me in my face with an Aussie fish for saying this he has always almost only been doing the hard work on the hosting and coding and of course financial side of the site. But he has done it well, apart from some minor accidents *cough* backups *cough*
The Admins has always been pulling the hard work work with mods helping to their best ability. I cannot say anything about todays Admin/Mod team (Haven't even checked) but there has been some amazing people during the years doing an amazing job with maintain the forum.

I resigned after about 4 years of mod service back in like 2010/2011 so that's probably why haha

As I said above. Sad when it was not the intention.

Sorry forgot to reply to you. I was really active 2005 to like 2010 was mod for about 4 years stared as sectional for RS game discussion section and got globalled after a year. Resigned in 2010 if i remember correctly due to lack of time and had stopped playing RS. And quit hanging around so after 2011 im kinda oblivious to what has happened here.

But yeah I am OG. Was kinda lucky I was gonna check the old forum in June 6, 2005 (damnit i forgot the name of the old forum!) and saw it had closed and moved to sythe.org. So I joined and started being active in the normal RS gaming and community parts. Never cheated very much TBH I just do what I need in a game without caring for the rules which is often some type of cheating.

Back then the forum was really blooming and this was before the bots in the Aryan bot times. Wish someone would write an article about Aryan bot it was a special time. Today every bot can do what it did but clicking on objects without moving the mouse started with Aryan.
Oooh the mermories. When I logged back some time after GE update I was like. Oh yeah I botted 5 million eye of newts with the Aryan bot that I couldn't possibly sell back then with screaming it in Fally park. Now there is GE. That was a good pile of cash sitting there. Meanwhile everyone was botting erune essence that after the Aryan bot falled turned into pure essence and people made bills.
