I think we should create a feedback thread for all news posts that are not about promotions (e.g. rule changes or clarifications) where users are encouraged to ask questions. Staff can then answer them and potentially refine any changes that were made. Basically just make big changes more of a conversation and less of a directive. I feel like people would be more likely to ask questions when a feedback thread already exists vs. throwing a question into a news post thread where most of the content is "nice" or "this is dumb."

    For example:
    New community repayment forum
Further Changes to the Accounts Market
Modernizing sythe rules and updating the bump rule
    A lot of updates
    An Update on Community Repayment

Support. More community involvement on this is a plus imo. I'm sure Sythe users have great ideas that could be beneficial and this is a good avenue to hear them. Good suggestion Super.

Support. Could easily just make a thread in the community general section (potentially sticky it) and then just at the end of every news post simply link the thread with something like
"Questions? Comments? Post here to discuss this weeks changes!" or something along those lines

I 100% support the idea, but how exactly would we make this happen and how is it any different to what we currently have, where a new rule gets implemented and a post is made about it and the community post's their reply's. So basically after announcing the new rule would they just post please leave your feedback and your thoughts on this update?

Yes we would make a thread and people could post their thoughts/immprovements on the thread without having to create a thread themselves.

I support for the same reasons mentioned above. I especially agree with what Devil said, more community involvement is indeed a plus.

Support, more community engagement is always a plus like mentioned already. It would give staff a platform to better explain updates in depth and why they were put into place.

I think it would be a useful and appropriate tool for users to communicate feedback at a central place, rather than spread across multiple news posts. I support this.

No support. I'd understand if users weren't able to make replies on the original thread but this is not the case. I think adding a new location for that feedback would create a convoluted process and make it more difficult for users to provide a new perspective. To encourage people to post meaningful replies, then I'd suggest adding a signature to news posts signifying that users are more than welcome to post feedback/concerns.

Isn't that what the suggestions section is for? If there's a new rule/change and someone wants to make a change or add feedback to it, they can just post a new thread there.

The logic behind the suggestion is great and appreciated. No support as suggested, but support a similar idea. See below.

Super is right. As it stands, people are able to post replies on News threads, but only temporarily as the threads are closed after a short amount of time. Not only that, but any comment/concern/rebuttal to the initial post would typically get buried within the "nice" "thanks" "great work" or usual sh33dy "drink bleach" type comments. I also don't think the suggestions section is proper for questions/comments/rebuttals/concerns regarding news posts, ether. I believe that a rebuttal to a new rule that were posted in the suggestions section would be shot down and locked quickly without the OP feeling like he/she were able to be heard or have a meaningful conversation on the topic.

All of that leads me to the community input section. The section is largely inactive and unused, but it seems like the perfect solution to the problem Super is addressing.

My suggestion: Link the "Community Input" section at the bottom of every Sythe.org News thread with a line similar to, "Do you have questions, concerns, or thoughts regarding these changes? If so, please feel free to start a conversation within the Community Input section!"

TL;DR - a section already exists, here: Community Input. We should just include specific wording within news section posts that identifies the subsection.
