100 for a bronze one
1000 for a silver one
10000 for a gold one
100000 for a diamond one
1000000 for a crown or some bullshit




You buy them from the userpanel and then that gold is gone. You can only have one at a time, and when you upgrade, the old one gets removed. Not sure if the previous ranks should be required before getting a higher tier one. The icons are obviously a quick mockup to illustrate and should be made more attractive.

Creates an use for SG and reduces the amount in circulation greatly making SG ultimately more scarce and valuable.

The last one should be impossible to get, but feasible technically. So that if someone wants to, they can go on a SG buying rampage and get one, technically at least.

how about some 'profile age' (not actual) related ranks; for the lurkers. or long time members.

 

This could be a neat idea if you mean what I think you do.

5 Year / 10 Year / 15 Year non tradeable miniranks
5K / 10K / 20K post count non tradeable miniranks

Could also have a positive impact on community activity based upon desire to get the post count miniranks.
