that's a weird job to get laid off from, you'd think that they'd be throwing everything they've got into digital products since their traditional portfolio items are shot

A digital product in this case isn't the products you buy for the parks, those are ticket media or merchandise products. A "digital product" is their websites, mobile apps, and APIs like the ticket store (as a platform itself, not as in what's sold on the platform)

So they definitely kept on the teams responsible for maintaining their tickets and booking engines, but my team optimized and updated their websites and mobile apps, and there's plenty capable people in the more essential IT teams who could assume our responsibilities along with their own
