What REALLY is/will be Coronavirus?

Is the coronavirus really a pandemic that will not stop and kill us all, will it have its total end, will it be another business for medicines and will it continue in small quantities?

I bet there are many different opinions on the subject and I would like to know how it develops:

 

I'm interested to know what serious opinions you've heard that say that a virus with a 2-5% mortality rate will kill us all.

 

Ive heard that it expanded exponentially, that's what worries me, I feel that many do not worry because 2% is the death rate from other diseases but forget that Coronavirus rises exponentially? Or is it that it doesn't rise exponentially and they just want more visits on their news? aaaaaaa dont really know what to think, this is why my thread.

 

The most recent comparable events are SARS, H1N1, and MERS. Bet you didn't hear much about any of these, especially not SARS since you might have been too young.

The fact of the matter is that social media is driving this shit fucking home. It's causing stock market meltdowns. People are freaking out. The media's got content for weeks. They're going to take advantage of that.

If you ignore the media, including social media, what are you left with? 250k cases worldwide, relatively low mortality rate, human trials for different vaccinations happening around the world and other further trials for existing treatments (using malaria medication as an example as a temporary treatment).

The most comparable event in relatively recent history to compare to Covid is the Spanish Flu. The reason why that one was as bad as it was was because there were no medications for that. Social distancing was the vaccine. That was it. Governments didn't take it seriously and neither did people, so a lot of folks died. A lot.

Now? Everyone's freaking out. I won't go as far as saying that people are freaking out over nothing, but the lengths at which governments around the world are going to prevent further spread of an illness that is only truly bad in Italy and China is incredible.

I think we'll see a rise to 1M cases worldwide but deaths with steadily decrease until eventually there are hardly any new cases anywhere. By the time this starts to relax a vaccine will be around the corner (in a year or so) and all of this will be a thing of the past.

Keep living your life. If you're still living at home and don't have to go to school, or have been given a leave from work, enjoy it. Learn something new. Watch all the movies in your backlog. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for so many things if you play your cards right.

Take it easy, stay safe, and you'll be fine.

 

Something growing exponentially and having a 2% mortality rate aren't mutually exclusive. Can you explain, using clear, plain english, what you're talking about?

Anyways, saw something relatively worrying.

4chan user (mind you, I'm not taking it lightly solely because it's on 4chan, but because of the amount of crazy shit they've found out & proved in their history) did some digging... using publicly available data, Chinese media and all, accounts.. etc things for Chinese ppl only like social medias and things like AliPay....

...he and some others are projecting it could be 7-14 million cases in China atm.

Now I wouldn't necessarily be SURPRISED here, because China is extremely dense population wise and there's over a BILLION fucking people there, but what are yalls thoughts on this? This could be huge, but I don't know for sure if it's real. I'm personally doubting it, but people from China (whistleblowers yknow that kinda shit) have outright come out and said "no, there aren't "0 new cases"". As in yknow, China's lying. Wouldn't be surprising.

These are discrepancies only recently happening (the dude checked like he said and this only happens recently) and there are.... well way more than the reported missing/inactive for sure. And if you're self-quarantined, locked in house etc... wouldn't you be using your phone a lot or on it?

Post what yall think I wanna hear it. Throw me some ideas.

Also, not sure if related but me and mom saw 25 lights (most likely planes) flying IN LINEAR fashion from NW to SE (I live in north Ontario so it'd be going towards NYC or Toronto). Equally spaced apart. They were planes. Not sure what's going on there but I was the first to notice, when I got my glasses on I can see pretty fucking detailed shit. One of them had red/green blinking lights, rest were just bright white lights. I wonder if these are the evacuees we were getting from across the globe, or is this something else? I got no idea.

It's basically been confirmed China's lying rn. They stopped testing people according to some Chinese folk that live there including some news outlets in HK, and they're letting people out of quarantine early.

Keep living your life? Well sure, don't kill yourself. But no, please don't continue as usual. Will we see a vaccine this year? Maybe. Don't bank on it. What about the millions (billion+?) who contract it before then? You think the media is driving this home? You think the media is crashing the stock market? Na. The media didn't report this pandemic seriously until after it gaining steam. And the media isn't crashing the market ... rather, that workers can't work & our infrastructure is insecure are the roots of the crash. I think it's funny that you think the media has that power. You think it'll hit a million cases? Really? By professional estimates, there are well beyond a million cases in the present. How are deaths going to decrease? It's not as if people can come back from the dead. Rather, you mean the lethality, or mortality rate, will decrease. Still, that's not necessarily correct. As we've seen in Italy (& now Spain - coming to hospitals near you (US) soon), when health care systems are overwhelmed, they provide inadequate treatment (crazy concept, right?), and thus, the mortality rate increases. To say this virus is only bad in China and Italy is stupid. You think the virus gives a fuck if the host is Chinese or Italian? Na, it'll kill any human who can't handle it. And, the pandemic is seemingly under control in China ... take that in the context of an authoritarian regime and controlled media. However, the pandemic is rampant in the US ... Europe ... and elsewhere. It's clear that you haven't informed yourself, else you wouldn't expect just a million cases. Experts estimate hundreds of millions or billions of cases. You understand the concept of exponential growth right? You understand that hardly any new cases would be due to herd immunity - meaning billions of cases. Do you understand the concept of flattening an exponential curve - in order to ease the burden of this pandemic on our health care systems - in order to save lives? Please, don't continue as usual. Stay at home as much as possible ... leave only for exercise, medicine, food, and other essential ventures. Reduce social contact. Inform your neighbors. Wash your hands. If you can attain some, wear masks. This pandemic is not something to take lightly. If you disregard this advice and act as an unlimited vector, then you're likely contributing to the otherwise preventable death of somebody's loved one (in addition ... inadvisable behavior will prolong preventative measures and thereby increase economic burden and cause other widespread negative effects).

Eh, is China lying? How is it confirmed? The thing about a powerful authoritarian state that controls the media is ... we don't have access to information. So, without access to information, we may suspect they're lying. But where's the proof? Now, is it possible that the virus is spread to millions in China? Absolutely ... it's been shown that this virus is quite infectious and spread through contagious yet asymptomatic hosts. But, is it possible that China, a powerful authoritarian state, enacted stringent measures to prevent the spread? Absolutely ... it's been shown that the spread of this virus may be drastically impeded by proactive and stringent measures such as testing, tracking, and quarantine (look at South Korea ... perhaps look at the reduced deaths in Italy after a few weeks of social distancing). I think the true answer is probably somewhere in the middle. Information is fudged by the Chinese government, sure. But I have no doubt that they're taking this seriously and finding major success in slowing the disease.

 

Issue is, not only are they authoritarian which means they'd 100% want to control this info before it could possibly get out - but there are a bunch of citizens and whistleblowers who are saying people are still dying and it's still happening.

China is claiming no deaths, but citizens directly in the country are saying otherwise. Anonymously of course cos they'd be fucking killed or tossed in jail for life/a long time for "lying about the state" lol.

Also, China didn't do fuck all. They literally let this get out of hand, then when it did - blamed the USA because they didn't act fast enough.

South Korea is leading by example in this, China is nowhere close. They could have easily locked down the country immediately upon detection which would have been the smarter move, but no - instead they let them out onto planes and now the whole worlds got cases. Should have instantly locked down upon detection.

The virus has been known about in humans since Nov-Dec 2019. It was reported Dec 31 2019. They were already confirmed to have been covering that up. What else could they be lying about if they covered up a coronavirus more dangerous than the flu? Lol

 

Also piggy backing off of what @Blupig said, companies are giving a lot of free shit out for people who are stuck inside their houses. This is a good time to brush up skills that you were weak on. I personally am taking this time to take all the free courses on coding that are now free because of the coronavirus.

I feel that here in the US it makes no sense that we close businesses once we reached 100k cases and now that we're close to 1M cases they are deciding to re-open businesses.. Without a vaccine we are 100% prone to seeing another spike in cases when re-opening the country.

 

corona virus was intended to hurt chinese government but they were smart enough to make it stronger and send it outside to the rest of the world.

The fact that we(Doctors,Scientists etc) don't know much about it is what scares society and everyone for that matter.

Having said this, This is a pandemic and it will one day(by the will of Allah(god) Die down and disappear just like many sicknesses that came before this which were even worse.

Everyone keep your head up we can all do this we just need to be strong and consistent with health practices and life will go back to normal soon.

Everything is okay, we don’t have a vaccine and if you think it doesn’t exist it doesn’t.

My thoughts on this are if it is harmful then there needs to be a vaccine. Stay away from people with it and be cautious when moving. I don’t think it’ll necessarily murder the planet.. But I’m not saying it can’t either.

 

The virus will linger until we have a vaccine, and even then not everyone will take it. Therefore the virus will still be lingering and those who are at risk may die due to other peoples choices. I'd be surprised to see a vaccine by this time next year honestly.

 

Today, I saw a post made by a doctor stating his patient didnt believe in the Covid 19 and refused to take treatment from the facilities to get better.

 

Sounds kinda hot... people are stupid man
