[Approved]Start enforcing middleman activity rules and actively promote or deny applicants

Now that our inactive Head OMM has "stepped down" its time for more aggressive actions.

My suggestion is to either remove the OMM rank or start promoting more / demoting inactive OMMs.



Its ironic that this is on the DO NOT SUGGEST list.

 

Part of my suggestion is to promote more New OMM's. Hopefully now something will get done because my application had been up since August lol.

I like both of your posts. The worst thing is when you have a big $ trade and they all aren’t responsive or “unavailable”. It’s happened every time I’ve personally needed them so far.

Honesty, the big unofficial MM’s should be looked at and asked to step up at this point.

 

Considering out of the current OMMs almost everyone has held a rank of extreme trust "staff" in order to obtain the OMM rank. The two few who don't might have actually never applied for a staff position given their trust.

If you get my point here, unless you are extremely worthy or staff at one point you may never receive that rank as OMMs have a track record of zero scams.

@Assassin sorry buddy, you've been banned here so many times you're better off getting staff rank than OMM. I'm only going what the statistics say.

Your ban was extended when you ban evaded and self interacted and gave fake vouches. Point being, people can definitely change. You literally have a better chance at becoming a staff than OMM going by the statistics.

 

ROFL I didn't ban evade. I was unfamiliar with Sythe rules at the time and made a silly mistake. I had already been banned for tweeting. The self interaction happened months before when I was new and inexperienced when it came to Sythe Rules. Not like I actually did anything actually malicious ever. I am well expecting to get denied at first, as no one really does it the first time around in the past due to statistics as well.

 

I get your point, however I do get staff's stance on not actively promoting new members to OMM aswell as it brings quite the title with it and implies some kind of trust. I'm very much in favor of actively enforcing middleman activity, since most of them are quite inactive in terms of middlemanning trades.

Burnley for example has bumped his thread a few times in 2018, but his actual vouches date from before 2017.
Mr Extremez hasn't updated his since early 2019.
Same applies to tMoon.

And that's just the start. Others have bumped their MM thread but ask for ridiculous fees (which can't be prevented), though makes them extremely inactive in the market.

To be quite honest I'd be more in favor of removing the rank altogether, since regardless of rank all users should be careful and take precautions no matter whom they are trading with. The OMM rank simply serves as a sign of trust, which usually just adds up the fee of the service.

 

Honestly this, as said before I’d probably trust Non OMM’s more than the officials nowadays. Becoming OMM looks as more of a fun rank then a staffed one.

 

I dont think this is an active "stance" of staff - and more just laziness. But you'd have more staff experience than me ofc.

Also I agree with what you said on this being a trusted rank, and shouldnt be something that someone can obtain in under two years without unusual circumstances (@Pegasus with a $20k mistakenly sent to him and refunded comes to mind). Although he's now just over 2 years so congrats @Pegasus

 

OMM should remain very hard to get and just meeting the requirements shouldn't be enough, if user was ever involved in anything that looks sketch he shouldn't be able to obtain it no matter what. I agree we need to get rid of old inactive ones, but OMM rank should remain on the top out of all ranks that represent "trust".

I personally highly dislike advertising like this, never had any problems with him personally but constantly trying to milk that 20k makes me doubt the legitimacy of it. And i noticed some people are trying to copy it with lower amounts.

 

Your argument of it considered as a trusted rank, is an example of why someone should have it because you consider them trusted, so it kinda proves how wrongly interpreted the rank is.

On a sidenote, I haven’t mentioned it at all anymore myself. As for the legitimacy of it you can always ask me to screenshare my entire discord convo with Fred.

On topic though, I do agree OMM should be the highest rank of trust, but would you say Champ is not at the top of most trusted users (admin at the time as well)? They should definitely promote a few new OMM, and those who only rank sit need to have their rank removed.

 

It took several months to have Shin move my app and a few months at least for wortel/champ (since they were all moved together), and I believe it took a couple months for the currently pending ones that sat there, which is why I assume Video eventually responded to them/moved them to voting). Activity requirements for OMM are supposed to be enforced by the head OMM, and if that isn't the case, then of-course issues like this will arise (and obviously that applies to many things in life). Regardless I'm sure this won't be an issue and more initiative will be taken to revamp/update everything once a new head OMM is voted on.
