Would selling a discord account be allowed?

Would selling a discord account be allowed if I drew up a contract with the buyer if anybody was interested?

I am thinking of selling my discord account so if any reputable members were interested they could purchase it to add to their marketing/sales funnel.

Just want to check before I proceed with the idea of doing this. I may not go ahead anyway as the offer would need to be worth it for me.

 

why wouldnt it be, its the same as selling your website. New management. I suppose you would need to announce somewhere that you don't own the discord anymore.

I actually doubt it would be allowed per Sythe rules as it makes it extremely easy to impersonate and use your reputation to scam others.

 

Also thought about this, but I would only sell it to somebody highly trusted in the market because I care a lot about the customer lists I've built up over the years, so would only want somebody professional to take over

 

If I were the one making up the rules I’d be highly opposed to this but perhaps @video or anyone knows Sythe’s actual ruling on this.

 

Disagree, similar to selling a website once you announce that you no longer have any affiliation with it you can't be held responsible. Besides, most of the imposter scams happen because other party does not request a confirmation via pm on sythe.

 

Brings up a lot of good points. The main thing though is that the seller needs a platform to publicly announce that they are no longer affiliated. Maybe even be forced to not use discord for a set amount of time.

I still think however, even though we can push a set of rules for the selling of a discord account name it shouldn’t be allowed. Something will happen as it opens up a new avenue for scammers.

Imagine an admin selling their account for an example and no one reads that they sold the account. Then people trade with that new owner thinking it’s the previous.

 

anything that goes out the boundries of sythe does not concern sythe. It's not the only marketplace on the internet.

 

It's allowed but you would forever have responsibility for any scams that occurred on that discord
