[DENIED][Donor Perk Idea] Animated User Images

It will generally look tacky, considering this simple feature has been used by many XF based boards for more than a decade but no one has taken interest in it.

Would people want it? Sure some would. Would they need it? Highly doubt it'll be popular, most wont even animate their UT which is totally a thing lol

 

Do we really need things that look like this?



Idk man... think it's a no support from me. Agreed with the above in that it seems tacky. Signatures, avatars, and ads already move. Isn't that enough?

 

I like the idea but agree people will take it to the extreme. I think a signature spot is enough and they are much larger so I don't think an animated UI serves a need.

EDIT: Maybe if it was limited to color changes in the font outline. But thats the extent of animation I think a UI could use.

 

Agreeing with Super on this. It’d kind of eventually just be a little to much to look at. I guess very light animation like the UI would be ok. However, even then it’s a forum board, not a fashion show.

I would personally remove animation on Avatar and Signature to save bandwidth, but yeah this is only my 2 cent

 

Support, but I think the letter’s need to be clear & visible! Maybe instead of complete animation, they may allow like a highlight or some type of border around the name that is illuminated?

Image that blows glitter..njet- would not fit in these forums at all.

Precisely! I remember when I joined a year ago. Some UIs were hard to read and I barely understood that it was their usernames at some points. In my opinion usernames should be as easy to read as possible and I think that it would just make it harder by adding animations to it. It's a really cool idea I can't disagree. But sometimes less is more

Yeah, theres a few game clans that use heavily animated websites which refreshes on every load, takes upto 5min for the website to load lol. Things can get wierd

 

We're gonna have to pass on this one. In a perfect world it would look nice but the reality is we need usernames to be clear and this increases the chances of that not being the case. Sorry Andy.
