Important market rule changes and a sandbox update

But what if some malicious users hire someone to make fake accounts and purposely vouch and break the rules for another gold seller.

How is this going to be addressed. This is not fair.

And by this I mean:

Seller will only link their vouch thread to customers.

Howeever, malicious user makes accounts and purposely leaves vouches on gold seller threads without consent of or knowledge of the gold seller in question. What is being done to address this. How is this going to be enforced?

There are people out their with rotating residential IP's so your "TWC" with HOME IP will not work. Half the accounts that are committing scams are done with residential rotating IPs which are impossible to distinguish.

Why is seller being infracted for such an act that they do not commit themselves?

This is something that is both difficult to prove and hard to regulate. I need an answer for this please.

 

If there is enough evidence to suggest that you did/do your part to follow the rules and try your best to ensure that customers leave vouches for you in the correct threads (which you will if you're following the rules) you will not be punished.

I don't think by default we will assume you're breaking the rules. Although I would encourage that when trading you link your vouch threads to your buyers. If after that they ignore and decide to post in your sales thread that is not your fault. They will be punished not you.

We will also probably look at each scenario and deal with it case by case as rule changes and new rules can potentially have grey areas that can only be brought to life when the changes actually take place.

There are fake accounts going around leaving "fake" vouches on gold seller threads.

For example, BoglaGold does not have control over who leaves a vouch on their gold seller thread.

How is this going to be addressed? Obviously Bogla will follow the rules. But they cannot control people posting vouches on their gold selling thread. There are many malicious users.

 

All vouches left on sales threads will be deleted.

Just posting "added"

"check discord"

"pming you"

stuff like that.

This is an obvious attempt at bumping from very newly created accounts.

Understood if you're literally giving them your sales thread, but i meant in the circumstances where you dont even ask for a vouch but they just leave it there of their own free will.

Doesn't happen very often tbh, but sometimes a new customer will find your thread, add you, conduct the trade and leave a review of their own choice - seems unfair to infract the thread owner for that.

@Gladiator advised already in PM to me to just report the post, but other toxic gold sellers probably scour threads to report competition where possible just wanted to know the standpoint the forum is taking in regards to this, generally for the circumstances where the vouch wasn't even requested.

 

If someone leaves that vouch by themselves (this would be an extremely rare occurrence in all my years of gold trading), you can "watch" your thread so you're notified of any new posts, at which point you can report the post yourself and no action will be taken against you. Similar to how gold sellers report incorrect vouches themselves (ones left on their buy threads instead of sell threads).

If that vouch is reported and you're online/active and chose not to report it yourself then action should rightfully be taken against you as @Azie mentioned above.

 

That watch thread thing does also bug out sometimes and not actually give you the notification.

It's not an extremely rare occurrence at all lol, for someone who does hundreds of trades per week it happens several times a month at the very least.

Absolute counter-intuitive rule (with reference to the vouching rule). It'll work just great if you can delete 1000s of vouches retrospectively but you can't and anyone with pages of vouches has a significant business advantage over those without.

Also one cannot now leave a bad/negative review on a thread (where it should be, not all the way down a vouch thread).

 

Also; regarding the moderating of this rule.

It's not really up to regular uses to moderate other users posts; in my opinion the ruling should be treated as follows.

1. Should someone leave a vouch on a market thread, the person leaving that vouch is infracted / warned.
2. Should that user be able to provide proof that is where he was asked to leave it - then the infraction be removed and the owner of that thread be infracted + thread locked for 7 days.

If people want to ignore the rules to gain a market advantage then they should suffer the consequences; but to punish & put onus of the moderation onto the thread owner is unfair, especially when its for a new rule that wasn't needed or asked for by many.

Interesting change to say the least,

I have removed my auto bumpers and tomorrow ill be following up on all the threads and such bumping them and replying manually with stuff needed.

Positive changes - especially regarding 'drive-by' posts...that rule update should make the services market more transparent and competitive for people that are seeking quotes from multiple providers at once.

 

Not fond at all of the market change but I do like the sandbox fix - looks much nicer!
