What's the biggest purchase you have made on Amazon?

Title. I'm quite curious in case I ever wish to buy something myself from Amazon. I've already considered Amazon as a store to get small gadgets and such, but who has ever made big purchases there, such as laptops, computers, fridges or anything of that kind? If you did please let me know what you've bought, why you've chosen to buy it from Amazon and if the product was as you expected/as it should work.

highest one ive done on amazon and yea works great till this day

 

Samsung Phone, my local store was higher and felt any warranty would sufficiently protect me if something terrible happened to the hardware. I wouldn't trust Amazon for my computer component purchases or anything else sensitive. I'll rather pay an extra $10 to use a trusted vendor than Amazon.

 

My most expensive purchase at amazon was a memory foam mattress for about 300$. Good quality

 

Largest purchase from Amazon was a mattress that cost roughly $1k USD. The only reason I purchased it from Amazon specifically is because I wanted a particular mattress that is usually only sold in the US - and Amazon was the only place I could find it at that would sell it to me (except maybe eBay, but F the shipping cost that'd have).

I've bought more expensive items from sites like eBay - as here in Australia Amazon's prices aren't great and you'll often find the same vendors selling the same products on eBay anyway (added to that, dispute resolution is just so much easier on eBay and some sellers are really desperate to keep positive feedback).

For large white goods (refrigerator, freezer, etc.) I've always shopped local for a few reasons - but the main one (other than logistics) would be that the stores here will negotiate price so I'd get it cheaper than online anyway.

One place that's a pretty big standout that has the same sort of return policy worldwide is Costco. You used to be able to return electronics after ANY length of time if you weren't satisfied (sleazy people used to upgrade their shit this way everytime a new model came out) - now electronics are limited to 30 days (but obviously still have manufacturer's warranty beyond that) while other products still retain this unlimited return period.

 

Because Huion direct shipping was like 200$.... (Canada) and free on Amazon

I've bought dozens of phones, including an S7 Edge and 3 iPhones (to resell), graphic cards and even sex toys, and never had a single problem, Amazon is by far one the best options to buy online.

I wouldnt buy things like a Fridge or TVs because shipping to my country is expensive af and I'd have to pay more for the shipping than the item itself

 

Would you buy a dishwasher for example if shipping was free?

 

I'd buy everything on Amazon if shipping was free, but if you're outside USA and use a courier to send things to your country, buying heavy and bulky things isnt your best option

For example, to ship a 1 pound item to my country (in a really expensive courier) is about $20, if I send a dishwasher I'd have to pay like 1k USD

 

Although I have bought enough items from amazon with never a bad experience. Last year I purchased a $2,000 computer (new in box) computer from E-bay. Worked perfectly and was a great deal. Nowadays if you shop the E-commerce market with a credit card or even a debit card for that matter, you get tons of protection including refunds if the product is defective and the merchant won’t make it right with you.

P. S. I’m a UPS driver and probably have delivered anything you can imagine from amazon. They are going to take over the world one day lol.

 

i've had two different purchases of over $1000 on amazon without any negative experience. went quite smooth like always

 

I normally just use it for things such as mice, keyboards, headsets etc as I tend to go through them quickly.

However recently I've only used it for the Amazon Prime video/buy movies etc.

 

Bought a laptop, $1k worth? Amazon just stocks other companies items, buy from reputable brands and you're fine. They cover for shipping damages/lost items anyways.
