[DENIED] Allow vouches for Graphics

so I want to start off by saying that I have personally spent more money on graphics and web design / development that any service on Sythe. Rather it was web design, signatures, avatars, etc, I have paid more than 3x my current vouches.


Now, this isn’t really that much money over the course of a few years , but it is still more than all of my current vouches combined.


That being said, why can we not allow graphics as part of vouches.


For example, if someone designs a 7-8 page website for me, and I pay them $500 for their services, why cant they receive a vouche, or if I spend $200 on a thread layout, signature, avatar, UI, and other services, I can’t vouch for that person.

At the end of the day, a service is a service. There are tons of people who have vouches for literally doing nothing (sitting there and making sure their live chat functions properly, which isn’t to hate on gold sellers there is a lot of stuff that goes on to make a business work), while graphic artist are making signature after signature or web design after web design and aren’t allowed to receive vouches for their hard work ( and it is often long and tedious work )



Look, Moonglare made me a web design. He worked for like 4 days and gave me some very high qaulity work... however I was not allowed to vouch him since web design is considered graphics, despite it being essentially 1 step of web development.

Then I took that web design ( PSD Files) and sent it to another Sythe user to help implement it into Wordpress. He charged probably half the price, but he was able to receive a couch because web DEVELOPMENT is considered okay for vouching.


What if I hired someone to make a web design AND web development. Maybe half of the cost is for the design, but since the design will be implemented into a Wordpress site for example, that person not gets a vouch since it was a web development service so to speak.

This seems very unfair to me, since web design can often involve using the same tools as someone who is developing a website and is a crucial step in creating a good looking website. The services moonglare did, or the signatures that graphic artist make are often just as important and legit as someone meeting someone in the duel arena, and trading them 500m, often involve more work and involves dealing with customers on a much more personal level.


I suggest that we allow graphic artist to use their art work as vouches as long as the art work is shown in the vouch, maybe with a water mark or signature on the work to prove they did the work.

 

I already commented about this, simply it is a service and the seller should be awarded for the service. Support.

 

Highly Support, it's a service just like everything else.

However if it is a Free GFX shop you can not demand a vouch.

 

Completely agree with this, some web designing/graphics takes more work then a simple quest being completed.

I'd say that as long as it's paid then 100% support - keep it like services where users can't farm vouches by handing out templates/free GFX.

With reference to the 'do not suggest list' argument, the justification is literally 'Been discussed many times and will not change unless the admins change their mind' - not even remotely close to a reasonable explanation. If enough users support it then I don't see why this can't be reversed; artists are delivering a service (one which just about every Sythe user makes use of at some point) and should be entitled to receive vouches for the great work they do.

 

graphics spend way more time for 1 vouch than a guy doing a quest thats 10-20minutes who also gets 1 vouch, i completely agree that gfx should be vouchable @Jason did a great job for example

 

Should have seen this before so I apologize for not reading that sticky ( although I have in the past and just forgot it was on there).


However I think I found a "loophole" so to speak, in the rules. How can we allow web development vouches, but not web design vouches, when web development may involve graphic work. Also, web design may also involve using CSS or even implementing designs into existing sites, which is basically the same as web development.

I'll respect the rules and not suggest something on the list again, but there needs to be some clarification on whether or not web design is considered graphics or if it is considered web development, and maybe the administration can maybe give a reason to why graphics aren't allowed in vouches, considering almost 0% of all graphic related work involves scamming and is a huge part of sythe.


I do notice however that with a traditional vouch, users often have to trust the other person with gold or accounts which hold a particular value. Thats why in vouches we see " went first" , where as with graphic vouches, no one would say "I went first" because of the nature of how graphic selling works on the site. i can see how a vouch for $500 in 07gp is considered more showing in terms of "trust" vs $500 in graphic services, however If I can get a vouch for selling someone a mini why cant I get a vouch for making someone a UI.
