Rate the Staff of Sythe (May 2018)

This will be a test drive for the month of May. In this form you are to rate the production of each staff member for the month(s) in question. You must be objective in your voting. Trolling is not tolerated! I will try to make note of obvious trolling when sharing results! You will be required to sign in to google to vote (emails wont be recorded/collected) and votes cannot be changed/viewed after submission. You are limited to 1 response each. You are required to vote for each staff member to complete the submission. The results of the voting will be shared in a month's time and a new voting process will begin for the following month.

Your options are as followed:

Outstanding
Good
Average
Needs improvement
Bad
Abstain (indifferent/none vote essentially)

The ratings will be shared at the deadline through pie charts.​

Intrested in how you plan to enforce these.

Lets say I and a couple friends who are ban evaders wanted to group together and lower @Wortel s score. ( I use wortel as an example because I love this man and he does well in staff reviews)

All we would have to do is all vote something else on everyone elses score and give wortel a 1. You have no way of knowing we are trolling @Wortel. You dont have previous statistics to work off of and no proof that we are trolling when we are voting for other people.

 

I removed that portion before you posted this reply. It can't be monitored since pie charts are how votes are tallied (was unaware until now). It'll have to be. Either way, this is a TEST drive. If "trolling" is as prominent as you think it may be, then I'll discontinue this, otherwise I'll leave it up and running. You'll see the results for yourself at the deadline.

I made it so you have to sign in to google to vote. This would discourage trolling to an extent to which I think is acceptable. Thanks for your input.

 

For sure needs improvement, they look extremely unmotivated, and just throw stuff that needs to be done around to each other because they're too lazy to deal with it (Not calling out any1 specific but noticed this with several mods). More often rotations would be nice so lazy mods don't stay around too long and new ones gets a chance, but i noticed demotions almost doesn't exist (btw feels like wortel is the only one motivated to do some shit in here)

 

Wish sythe staff was bigger or at least more active. For the most part king, Wortel and champ are the only people doing any work in regards to scammers. It’s terrible recently seeing how slow responses have been. I understand people have irl obligations but one of you guys should be available to view a report. It takes literally a minute or two.

I think it will be interesting to see these scores - but I wouldn't say they are un-biased by any means. Even my own are biased toward the mods I like and interact with on a daily bases.

What this would give is a good insight into how the community views these staff members.

Someone with an average score of under 3 should try to interact with the community a bit more, maybe fix their image. That isn't to say they are doing a bad job - it says that the community feels that they could be doing better

I am able to see individual responses for each person who voted. If I see obvious trolling (voting bad on all for example), then I'll make note of it.

Also, so far there have been 8 recorded votes, none of which include "bad" as an option. I think trolling here has been overestimated. Yes the possibility exists, but the extent of it really won't have a significant impact.

 

Eliminating bias in every vote is impossible. Ideally you want to have a large number of participants voting so it won't be as prominent. This is just a way for the community to be heard through other means. Staff would be encouraged to perform better with this being a thing.

It's not possible for a normal member to see how active staff members are since they can't see hidden forums, how many bans, reports handled, etc. I'm currently #2 in reports handled this month (ofc wortel is #1 ) but the average person would look at my recent activity on my profile and assume I do nothing.

 

You're saying reports are not visible to the public? Pretty sure they are. That's also why the abstain option is there (if you can't objectively decipher ones production level).

 

Anonymous voting will most likely result in upset users grading moderators with low scores because of personal vendettas. Upset users may include but not limited to: Infraction recipients, the opposing end of a report that favored the other individual(s), and trolls.

If you have an issue with a moderator(s), I highly encourage users to reach out to them. I promise you, nothing will be taken to heart as long as they are constructive criticisms.

To moderators that may receive low scores, I recommend you to not take this to heart as it's like rating a book based on the title of a cover. I'm actually surprised the OP is pushing for this as he was once staff, he should know that not everything a moderator does is available to the public.

In short, this poll will be based on report a scammer, disputes and pardons.

Not necessarily. Anonymous voting is the best way to discourage bias voting. If we're able to publicly see who is voting what for who, it will unintentionally create a pandering domino effect. With anonymous voting, even your best friend on the forum can objectively rate your production/performance without feeling the need to purposely give you a boost (not saying they wouldn't, but the likelihood of that happening is decreased).

One more thing: Users participating in voting are likely to be more community active, meaning their votes are more substantiated than the average market user who ignores the community.

This isn't meant to persecute staff in any way shape or form. (Good votes beat bad ones 3>2)

All i see them do is troll in discord chat
idk what they do but whenever i pm a mod on discord regarding a question most of them don't even bother to reply UNLESS i pm them to sell/buy gold which is pathetic imo.

Even if you handle all the reports it doesn't necessarily make you a good mod imo.

So most of my scores for the staff team are bad.

Hey bud. This is a community based rating system that allows for the community to rate the performance/production of staff on a monthly basis, rather than all-time (typically what you see in individual feedback threads). I can't speak for you, but if I were in your shoes, this is something I would appreciate going forward.
