Will Discord become bigger than Skype?

Will Discord become a bigger platform to use on Sythe to conduct trades?

I wanted to start a small shop and I cannot decide what platform to use to start trades.

Is Skype still being heavily used or could I just start using Discord only?

 

Probably. Discord is just such a nice program to use and it is way safer than Skype. I do however think that it will take another few months if not a year for everyone to switch over from Skype as that's been the main trading platform for the last few years.

 

Thanks for your input. I think I will have both for a while and then move on to just Discord when the time is right.

 

I like discord better because you can use without threat of ip grabber and you can do so much more on it.

 

I've never been booted offline using discord. I've been hit playing wow arenas all the time playing on Skype because people can't get rating on their own without cheating in that game.

 

Skype has Discord beat as a direct messenger I feel like. I don't think this changes moving forward.

 

I still prefer using Skype for trading over Discord though. It's just way easier to detect scammers via their skype usernames.

 

I use both so it doesn't really affect me, I prefer skype for sales. Discord for group chat.

I think Discord will surpass Skype in a year or two in terms of trading but certainly not for communication. Skype is just way too popular for Discord to catch up fully.

I have used and owned Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Skype, Mumble.. you name it. Made the switch from Ventrilo to Teamspeak back in 2013 because Ventrilo was no longer supported. I then made the switch from Teamspeak to Discord in 2017 because Discord was easier and safer to use.

Discord is king, and is rapidly growing. Just take a look at Google trends.

 

Definately, discord is safer/easyer.

 

I like discord yes but still prefer Skype with transactions.

I'd like to see it replace skype. Much safer and extremely easy to use.

Didn't think so at first.... but the new update for Skype is god damn awful. It's like a combination of the old Skype and Snapchat.
