Does Jagex care if we afk splash?

Hey everyone, it seems like Jagex has loosened up on their rules since I last played and I've seen some guides that mention fire strike splashing with -65 magic. It sounds like if the enemy is attacking you, you won't log out and you can afk pretty effectively. Does Jagex care if we do this / did I miss something? Thanks!

 

No, as long as you don't use any macros/3rd programs to avoid getting logged out, you're fine.

 

It might trigger them a little bit but it's not against the rules, go for it!

 

They already nerfed it. I mean the trade off is fine. Extremely low xp/h but it is afkable. You still have to interact every 20 minutes to not get logged out and it doesn't give any profit

I actually have a follow up question if anyone sees this... When we say 'afk' a lot of times we don't really mean away from keyboard. So, going further, would it be an issue if whenever I go somewhere I left it splashing for the 20 minutes until timeout? I have a ring of life in case of a dangerous random event - if they still do those. This would be ideal as I could pick up the free 4k xp when I head to work, store, etc. I'm mainly asking because I would obviously miss any random events and I know those used to put red flags on your account. Thanks again.

 

Random events aren't mandatory any more, that's fine.

 

to avoid being forced to logout put a book or a brick or something on your key board and it should avoid you from logging out for 6 hours.

I personally use a magazine, that seems to work fine for me

 

its not against any rules but if you want to train mage efficiently, you should do something different because splashing isnt a good way to get a decent mage lvl ^^

This is one of the oldest tricks in the book- they not only know about it, but EXPECT players will do it

 

You won't get banned for it, however there is much more efficient training methods than afk splashing

 

I have heard of people being banned using the autochat to stay logged on for 6 hours at a time so this may have a slight risk of ban.
