I think the 'Trick-or-Treat, Trainers!' Halloween Event is going to be awesome.

 

Meh, I might log back in to see this, lol. It's been a while...

 

It's actually pretty great. I haven't seen this many people play in a while. The reduced amount of distance needed to get candy motivated some of my friends to go on a pokewalk for the first time in weeks. I'm loving the double candy + spooky pokemon spawns too.

 

hatched a snorlax for 64 candy (32*2)

 

I haven't logged on since the whole update that deleted a crapton of accounts. Does farming the game via a computer program still work? How popular is the game nowadays

 

@Dave I'm sure there's still a few programs on the PC and iPhones to farm pokemons, the game isn't as popular or I'd say even close to being popular as it was when it first launched. It was just a big hype for a month but everyone got over it

 

No idea on the computer program part, but the halloween update certainly breathed some life back into the game. It's still nowhere near as popular as it was during the first month, but a lot of people at my school started playing again because of the event. For the first time in weeks, I saw constant lures all over campus. While the event itself was fun, it also is giving the community some faith in Niantic for what they're going to do in the future since it shows they actually care about the game and its users.

 

Got a few Pokemon with candy earlier thanks to this... Of course don't use all your candy in this event because the second generation bundle would be a better investment.

My Pokedex is filled so any extra are just a bonus. I'm saving my slots.

 

It was a fun event, hoping they do something similar for Christmas.

 

I liked this event because it made me feel like I was actually progressing for once. I'm glad they extended the event for almost an entire week, was pretty cool of them.

 

Wait they extended this? I was like man the event is too short I guess I'm not going to jump back on... I wanted to get some candy going and all of that with my stash of Pokemon >.<.

I like the new First Catch of the Day bonus, though!
