No idea on the computer program part, but the halloween update certainly breathed some life back into the game. It's still nowhere near as popular as it was during the first month, but a lot of people at my school started playing again because of the event. For the first time in weeks, I saw constant lures all over campus. While the event itself was fun, it also is giving the community some faith in Niantic for what they're going to do in the future since it shows they actually care about the game and its users.I haven't logged on since the whole update that deleted a crapton of accounts. Does farming the game via a computer program still work? How popular is the game nowadays
