Phasing out SVU discussion

Definitely agreed with this, I think just a prizebox would be fine.

I think a prizebox and $5 donation credit is enough as compensation. Definitely not a funrank.

 

Prizebox seems like fair compensation, or the SVU donation money credited to their regular donation amount.

 

Giving 25 donor credit may make more users want to jump up to the next level. Prizebox seems fine though

 

I'd be willing to become a $100 donor if this were to happen. At the very least a prizebox or 2 would be good too

Add the $25 donation imo. Spent quite a lot of money on minis would be unfair imo to add all these minis to sythe via the prizeboxs.

Edit: and you should give mystery boxes and not a fun rank for it. Fun ranks are extremely rare, and it would be cool to keep it that way

 

I dont have SVU however I believe $25 donation / prizebox seems fair, a real identity / business verification would be great to replace it with as people such as myself who are unable to use paypal can verify themselves without the need of a certain method of payment (If I could use PayPal of course I would have SVU 3+ years ago)

 

What? Am I missing something? Why are you discussing adding the option of paying SVU's $25 dollars just because they donated as much to receive it in the first place. SVU was never really a good thing with the apparent trust pretense it held and the amount of abuse it received, that you should now be "compensating" the possible removal. Not $25 anyways. Not to be added on top of their donation already made?.. They already hold the $25 donator status, and have SVU, so now if you decide to remove it you give them $25 on top? So it's either they don't have no donation status(if their $25 donor and you decide to compensate //refund), or just get a free $25 donor for no real reason.

Should be no compensation or something minimal a Prizebox is a better option, because of how tragic SVU is.

And I do hope there is definitely some means of adding Mobile option for recovery; it was the only reason why I contemplated getting SVU. How safe would it be if we added phone numbers to profiles (hidden)?


I could donate $25 //$5 right now just to receive it, and then get a free $25 compensation on top so I'm a $50? donor. Seems rather stupid to me.

We have to remember that Donation status also give's people the wrong impression of trustworthiness, compensating in the form of $25 doesn't do much favours to "Phasing out SVU"

 

Some people donated the 25$ for the sole purpose of being Sythe verified. So a 25$ compensation would keep those people happy.

 

I understand that. And obviously mostly all SVUs who are just $25 will be over the moon to get another $25 added to their donor value. That shouldn't occur. The SVU status is really nothing, that we should now compensate and cause more pretense. (The idea that donations levels/status can give a sign of trustworthiness as well, and that itself beats the whole point of phasing out the SVU since people presume it had a state of trustworthiness.//if we're giving $25 compensations to $25 donor's it will/can make them look somewhat more trustworthy. when in fact they just got refunded their donor money and actually don't really hold the level of their donation. ) Majority of users have already stated SVU means nothing or it has become nothing, so again I don't see why a $25 compensation is an option.

Something minimal in return, not a fun rank because that beats the point of the SVU being a rank. A prizebox? If it doesn't crash miniranks. Legacy Rank? Not sure.. would beat the whole idea of legacy players... unless $300+ and it wouldn't benefit them. Or just simply no compensation.

Again. You or I could easily donate $25/5 to get SVU just because there's a possibility of having the chance of then being $50 donor.

Why are you so pissed off lol the main reason for the "compensation" part is that every user with svu paid 5$ to get it and mods here reckoned they wouldnt want all that money to go to waste. So instead of explaining how svu is trash and how all proposed ideas are really bad, why dont you come up with something good instead.

 

Honestly, I'm fine with even getting a prizebox as compensation. Miniranks have no real reason to have a value attached to them when staff can hand them out any way they want to. Sure, miniranks are cool to have, they make the profile sections of posts much more interesting to look at. And if you think about it, prizeboxes probably shell out a random minirank and not a specific one, so the chances of it crashing its already arbitrary value, I have no real concern about receiving the prizebox as compensation.

 

If there is any form of "legacy rank", it should be a mini-rank otherwise it makes no changes whatsoever to fake trust, other than making it inaccessible to ban evaders and new users.

People who donated $25 just to get S.V.U should get $25 donor rank ?
and rest a minirank (prizebox?) or whatever

because it would possibly flood market with miniranks, so they'd become worthless

 

How about just an alternate non tradable mini rank just like the 2fa mini.

I like the idea of a legacy or participant minirank. This would not impact the market for prizebox miniranks or be unfair to anyone else. Everyone can share in the fact that they were around when the outdated SVU system was in place, and eventually the people who obtained this prospective minirank would be weeded out.

A matched $25 donation credit is too much, since it only costs $5 to become a SVU and $25 is a relatively low donation amount which already comes with a new user rank. There are many people who would be doubled in donation favor by this, which sounds unreasonable.$25 could use a new perk when SVU is phased out, but if it doesn't, that will be all more of an incentive to reach $50 donor rank.
