Phasing out SVU discussion

I personally haven't gotten SVU for the exact reason that I didn't have a paypal setup and was never going to use fake info. As a result, I feel a legacy rank is unfair on those who, like me, were honest about it.

 

1000000% we could keep/use a mobile verification for removal of 2fa or password resets

 

Just spit-balling ideas at this point, a special legacy rank really does nothing to help the problem that was SVU being a rank that people used as an indicator of trust as it's still a rank.

 

This ^ I'm also fine with a prize box or $25 donor added. Honestly, I'm also fine with no compensation at all

 

I know that's why we are getting rid of it.

So outright getting out of the system, which means $30 has to be compensated, so just give us the $25 to our donation rank? I'd say that's suitable.

 

SVU always seemed sort of counterproductive for the reasons that you stated. Glad this is being phased out - it gave the appearance (to some) that people were more trusted than they really are.

 

In fairness 25$ would be fair, and also it would probably cause more people to donate to sythe if I'm honest

For example I'm 50$ donor right now, I'd probably end up donating another 25$ if I had been given the 25$ for SVU to just bump it up to 100$, closes the gap a little bit and others would probably do it also

 

I think $25 would be too much. Aslong as the ability to add your phone number to your profile for recovery reasons will be added very soon I'd be fine with a pricebox or whatever. But then again that'll make miniranks alot less rare and it's still a 10$ compensation atleast. I think re-adding the legacy ranks is another suggestion to discuss, somewhere else.

 

Add the $25 balance to their donor rank and or offer a prize box.

 

Give us 3 prize boxes and we're good.

 

I agree, most kinds of verification are pointless.

Address verification? Send it to your friend. ID? Have one created on the deep web for $25. Phone number? Burner phone or free texting app.

I don't even think 'enhanced verification' for trusted users is worth it. If people want to verify someone they should do it themselves / some developer can fill the gap / use existing sites that do that.

I agree with the others, seems like a $25 donation credit would be sufficient. Although if you didn't give out anything I personally wouldn't give a shit.

also, dont SVU donations also count towards normal donations? dont see why a separate donation total for money spent on SVU is necessary

afaik the $5 you pay doesn't increase your donation balance.

 

Either a small amount of donation credit or a prizebox would be fine as compensation. I don't think having another rank would be appropriate as part of the problem with SVU to begin with is that it has its own rank, like Jack said.
