No Fee Bond Holders

I began to realize how unfair it is to some users that if they want to help out sythe and donate, they must be penalized for it with a fee. I can understand charging a fee for paypal as chargeback is always a risk. But seriously a fee on rsgp, etc?

Here's what I'm suggesting:

Make it a requirement that ALL bond holders that have donation methods other then other then paypal charge no fee for their donations or get being a bond holder removed. It's stupid that bond holders should be profiting on new sythe users that want to help the community out.

You might say that they are doing it in exchange of time, and they get nothing from it, but Mods get no payment and waste their time looking at reports, etc.

 

I agree with this idea, and I would be willing to be a bond holder that doesn't charge fees as well.

 

Second this motion. I remember being pissed about whoever donor'd me. I was wondering why I had to over pay to get a certain rank

 

Unfortunately, because of the time they spend doing donations; I feel nobody would be willing to do it without payment. Saying they are like mods isn't true.

Also for the change in prices of the market with rsgp/btc and others, they need to overprice or they could get caught out by a drop in market value; and so they need to up their prices.

 

Support. Seems to me that many potential donors refrain from donating due to the exorbitant fees.

Would also be willing to become a bond holder and do this myself.

 

I see what you are saying, but Jon + Chase just said they would be willing to be bond holders (as well as myself) for no fees. So I feel like there can easily be enough people willing to do this.

Seeing at its only nonpaypal you have an issue with, I think the fact that there are more and more bondholders should help with decreasing the cost a bit. As said before, the requirements to donate are not very high and you'd only be paying extra for the 5$. I agree with you that the rate of like 2$/gp is pretty low, but they are providing a service for accepting ur rsgp and donating for you. The only reason that the rate isn't great in itself is that you have to have a good rep to be a bondholder, which in itself is worth something.

Also, being a mod gives you a ton of reputation to answer your point.

You'll have to go through the process other bond holders go through. I think there is a fee.

 

Who says we all charge a fee on rsgp payments? Most bond sellers don't make a profit from their rsgp donations because we sell to people like divica or r2 because if we sell it to some newcomer @ 2.4 it's quite obvious the opportunity to charge back is there.

I make a point by doing all my rsgp donations through a trusted gold reseller. Where the people looking to donate contacts the gold reseller for current rates and then sends them rsgp and I receive the pp. No rsgp is touched by me.


Besides who's to say what current market rates are currently at?


This is obviously going to get denied but I think it's worth saying no support because our time is taken out for doing this for no (or little) profit. Aswell as the fact that bond holders take risks when receiving unsafe payments and that sythe is a free market.

 

Support. There are free MMs, don't see why bond holders can't be free as well. Obviously charge fees for paypal or whatever, but it's something of a racket as is.

Oh, and for the free market idea - if people are willing to do it for free, why not let them?

 

By all means if you want to become bond holders without fees contact matthew I'll give you every 2015 user that wants to donate $300 via unverified paypal and every user that contact me via rsgp saying I need to accept rsgp @ 2.4

For donating, what bothered me was that some users, on top of using autobuy prices to gold companies (fair, because they can profit or just sell immediately), they charge extra on top. I forget who it was, but their rate for a $25 donor rank was $40 worth of RS3 GP at .28/M, which I declined until I could find a better bond holder.

 

Sure, there can be free bond holders, I guess.

I don't really mind them getting a little extra for helping with donations through various different methods. At the end of the day, they're helping you with a service.

 

As for Donating at rsgp, just explain to them the risk of chargebacks, or make a sticky on the risks of chargebacks and explain how your selling to Divica/Bogla/R2, etc, at their price, and that's the price gp gets valued at.

There's a post and join date requirement aswell after you have donated once.

If you bothered to read my post you'd see that I only do donations through a gold reseller like this.

I'm agreeing with you, if people want to donate via Rsgp then what your doing is fine, but no valuing it lower then what trusted gold sellers are so you can profit.

 

I don't know how I feel about this. While I understand that people want to donate to Sythe, you also have to hire people to take donations besides PayPal. Why should donation bond holders have to spend their time taking donations without pay? We also don't know the process of how the RSGP gets donated. I'm assuming that they have to sell the gold to get real money. All this is a long process and would not be fair for bond holders to do for free.

 

Okay so there we go 1:1 methods via rsgp.
It's a free market so if somebody has an issue with other prices then can go to whichever bind holder they want .


Also if other binds holders don't current have am agreement with a gold reseller or their gold reseller is offline how are they supposed to determine current market rates?
How would you enforce this?

Also how you would you enforce that the gold reseller isn't just changing their rates for people looking to donate and then give the extra money made to the bond holder?


This is the issue with a free market, and therfore an issue with your suggestion.

 

There are at least 10 highly trusted gold sellers with 1,000 vouches at least, if they are all offline at the exact same time, then something is wrong. And if a goldseller does that with this rule enforced, both the goldseller + bond holder should be banned/temp banned for breaking the rule.
