The Worst Part Of Sythe Business

In all of these cases, as you can see people add me and then don't even reply.
One or two people doing this and i'd be like okay whatever. But this happens ALL the time. Those 6 screenshots are from like the past two days

It really gets to the point of frustration, like seriously people. Be sure before adding. or at least.. SAY SOMETHING >:l

 

If they add you, accept, and let them initiate the conversation. Desperation is also something people takes advantage of.

This gave me a good laugh.

 

Haha, that guy added me later only to try and impostor scam me, to which I renamed them.

And I always feel its necessary to initiate the conversation to someone who added me.

 

Trolls are always part of Sythe business , it shouldn't be too bothersome after a while.

Eh, I've had a fair few of these. One person has been just about to order something and requested a PM. As soon as I PM'd them, they went afk/logged out of Skype and never responded.

A week or so later they do the exact same thing and give no reason at all as to why they disappeared just after I sent them a PM. :l



Our conversation ended there and I never heard from him again.

 

As mentioned, people often try impersonating MMs, but I don't think you're really going to be subject to that atm. But otherwise, yeah, just accept the reqs and if they want to talk to you, they'll message you. Don't worry about it.

 

People like this annoy me so much.

I get people like this all the time on my graphics shop. They add me then don't even bother to reply. =|

 

I get a bunch especially with MM'ing. Annoying but it isn't a huge deal, I just keep them added and more often than not they'll ask again later.

 

So there is a common practice of impersonating MM? Do people fall victim to this sort of thing often?

 

Exactly what is the big deal of clicking a simple button and adding the person who sent the request? I don't see how it's frustrating or annoying unless you are really struggling that hard for "their" business..
If someone adds you and doesn't message you right away or even ever, who cares for all you know he/she could be one of your best customers in the future.

I see people doing this daily and as with the of the "whatever's" you send; again I don't see the need in being rude to someone just because they added you and straight after either found a better deal, someone accepted faster, or they changed their mind altogether as to why they wanted you.

This may just be my 2 cents but as Apith stated, desperation is real.

Impostering/imposing on highly trusted members is one of the largest scams this site and many other trading sites face. New people to the site or the "industry" don't know how to confirm skypes or check profiles or ask for Pm's. They simply get antsy or even tricked into thinking an excuse to no pm is okay. It's quite sad.

arrogance is cheap. Just imagine the amount of skype fuckery and impostering trusted sythe users have to deal with here

 

Yeah, if you try and add any gold seller you see 15 imposters with very close skype ID's and the same avatar. If you post that you're buying gold, they'll add you pretending to be them. Gets a lot of new people.

 

alot of the new people get scammed for like 500+ dollars from people pretending to be r2 or dave or whatever because they didnt request a pm.

 

I get people looking to buy stuff, and then when we start talking for a minute or two, they just stop responding. I just tell them to message me when they get back and never get a message back. It's happened like 10 times in the past 3 days.

 

Try working on a Runescape gold livechat, we barely get as many trolls as I thought we would. I was expecting at least 1-2 a day, we barely get that a week.
