I think he was pointing out the irony at the likely chance that he'd be kicked out of Runefest if he went there advertising RWT, when you can buy your way into Runefest by essentially RWT'ING lol (Bonds)

Whether or not people thing Bonds are RWT are another discussion I suppose.

Sry if you were just bein sarcastic, impossible to tell online.

I thought people got over the real world trading shit in 2011. Why would they want others to profit from their game? That is why the rule is still in place. Using bonds to go to Runefest is a great idea. It's good for the players and the economy.

Well it also goes along the lines of their original belief that ones standing in real life should not impact their standing in the game (an argument against bonds). But that doesn't really apply to bonds being used for Runefest. That's fine with me.

As far as the rwt part, I don't care bout that either.

Takes a lot of gold out of the game like the well of good will, so it is good for the economy. It is good for some players who don't have a spare £100 in real life.

I think it's just ironic how many baby steps they're taking over their original stance of zero RWT. If I were to buy a Runefest ticket with bonds and sell it to someone for £ am I RWT'ing or is it okay only when Jagex says so? Same with spins/keys - I wouldn't have seen that coming a few years go but people just expect it and dont think about it.

Just an observation. Be against it or be for it - don't blur the lines.

You can buy bonds for $ and sell for gp, it isn't any different in that sense. All Jagex did was create a safe way to sell 'upgrades' as opposed to the way it was done before. Jagex changed what their RWT rule said when they released the squeal of fortune

This excerpt was removed from the RS official rules when the SoF was released. Jagex changed their stance on RWT over two years ago - it isn't against the rules to buy gold or exp in the game if you buy it from Jagex, it is only against the rules if you buy gold or exp from someone other than Jagex.

Yeah I know of the change, there was a whole uproar about it at the time of SoF.

Two years isn't that long ago if you've been playing for a long time. I just don't like how they've changed; that's all.

Terrible analogy, it'd be like going to comiccon wearing a costume. You're encouraged to dress up for runefest. If I went I'd probably make a maxcape =p

People have used powerbot/worn powerbot shirts there, pretty amusing I remember seeing video proof at one point.

If it was free I would go but I don't really see the point in paying just to meet up with people.. You can do that without runefest

I remember when the first Runefest was announced, I was dying to go. Every year since then though, I've wanted to less and less to the point that is only go now if it were ten minutes away.

There is obviously more to that, always has been.

It's only worth going for the sexy usernames they release.

One of my ranks is convincing me to go so I am currently looking into buying a few hotel rooms close to their for a couple of days since a couple more ranks are thinking of going and a good friend of mine is likely to come that I met through RS. I am currently still trying to convince FeelGewd to come but he doesn't want to lmao. If there wasn't the possibility of obtaining rare names, me meeting up with a couple of my ranks and I'm hoping a few OldSchool 'events' (not really sure what to call individual parts at RuneFest) I would never even contemplate of going due to the main game hasn't interested me in years.

I definitely won't be going. I remember when they had a poll a few years back about where the next RuneFest should be, and New York got the most votes. They still had it in London anyway. At least having it in the U.S. would've tempted me to go.

I'm pretty sure their entire development team is English and they all live there. Having to fly them all to the U.S. and make reservations and plan in a foreign country might not be the easiest thing to do.

I highly doubt the type of crowd that ends up going to Runefest are those that are interested in RWT...
