Ehh, I'm mostly indifferent towards it.


I'm sure they donate the money to charity either way as a tax write off so they probably just chunk out a portion of that and put it towards this...

Also obviously it'd be better to sell your rsgp for 400% of what they're donating and donate the money yourself, instead of throwing it down a virtual well.

That being said I support item/gold sinks being put into the game, so meh.

I like the moneysink, might bring a littlebit of a rise in the price in rs3gp, and that's always nice.

Desperate way to sink cash. There is still so much more money in game that makes this irrelevant. They will make more money off the bond donations than they will give away to charity which is pretty sad.

 

if people wanted to donate, why wouldn't they sell the gp, jagex would donate 300$ for that 3b, they could've sold for almost 1000$, and donated that

 

The game is not repairable, unless they keep removing gold from the game.

 

If they did that they would just be putting money into the black market economy and not reducing inflation. Also no risk in doing it jagex's way.

 

Its not really working as a gold sink, a lot of the top donators are buying crashing items from the G.E. and donating them, since the donations are based off of G.E. value.

I'm glad that Jagex has implemented a gold sink, it'll be interesting to see if gold prices are at all affected by the update. It's insane how much people are donating, even if they're donating crashing items.

 

The current top donator (Rowley) recently got rank one in the seasonal highscores for solo zilyana kills, he killed 3000 within a two week period, so I assume he has a lot of cash to burn ^_^

 

It's a nice GP sink and I think the price of gold might raise a bit by the end of November, maybe 6-10 cents max.

 

Yeah...not sure why they decided to accept items as well. I mean item sinks are nice, but Jagex's lack of foresight is appalling.

 

It's a good thing to accept items as well.

Take whips for example, there's a buttload of them and they aren't used as much, so the items are dumped into the ge, causing the price to slowly decrease.

Getting rid of whips is a good thing. The price will sort of fluctuate back up to a good price. Same with any other item like it.

 

it's good for the rs economy but the rates are pretty scammy - go sell the gp and donate it lol
