Well can you Anwser my question what's the purpose of living out there besides having a farm?
My question wasn't anwsered when I read it -____-
Is this sustainable fiscally? It seems fairly expensive with all the generators, etc. Are you able to work some other sort of job on the internet?
I'm guessing you're doing this to live away from the government.
I can't find anything about taxes in this thread so I'll ask: Are you paying taxes?
If you are, would you willingly stop? (Knowing that if you or your girlfriend got ill, you couldn't call emergency services, and you couldn't go to the hospital, and so on?)
Lets say a company came to your town and took over (by force) schools, hospitals, universities and roads. These things all existed before they came along but they have guns and they took them by force. Then they passed 'decrees' that said no one else was allowed to start any of these things without their permission, and further, everyone within a certain geographical area around them must give them money everytime they buy or sell something, and at the end of the year some portion of their yearly income.
Then I come along and point out how fucking monstrous this is, and you ask: "if you got on the bad side of this company and refused to pay them protection money, and your girlfriend got sick, would you take her to the hospitals they run because they stole all the hospitals and no one else is allowed to build a hospital without their permission?"
To which I would reply: yes, you fucking idiot. Not like we have any god damn choice.
There were no hospitals before organized civilization,
but anyways, do you not consider it unfair then that you are abusing privileges granted to those who contribute money to the running of these privileges? Or do you just see it as a "They screwed me over, so I don't really care if I do this to them"?
Oh jesus. Come on man, get your historical facts straight. Civilization != government. In fact thugs have been presiding over everyone throughout most of history. If government were civilization, why are there third world countries? If government magically makes healthcare why are 3/4 of the world's people without healthcare, but 0% are without government?
Privileges? Contributions? These all imply voluntary consent. Voting is not even voluntary in Australia. The government takes our money (including mine) at gun point, and provides us with 'services' at the same point of the same gun. Yet I am the one who is abusing? What planet do you live on?
Lets replace government with a doctor rapist. Do you feel that you are abusing your privileges of being medically seen to by your doctor rapist by not consenting to have sex with your doctor rapist?
All (decently large, and sufficiently advanced to construction hospitals) civilization has had some form of government.
Also I'm not sure what you're saying about third world countries? They have civilization, and a government. Sure, the government is corrupt, but the civilization isn't very advanced either. And the government doesn't magically make healthcare -- the government uses tax money to aid those who need it for medical purposes.
A thief cannot run a charity. It is not his money to give away.As far as your example -- No, I'm not abusing my privileges by not seeing him, its a privilege, not something mandatory. However, if the doctor rapist also happened to have a charity, and I decided to steal from it (instead of taking two meals, say I take 50), then yes, I'd be abusing my privileges.
In fact thugs have been presiding over everyone throughout most of history.
So you really can't escape it?
