You decide the fate of Member of the Month!

Hey folks,

It's pretty simple really.

Member of the Month looks like this: >Click<
Sythe Monthly looks like this: >Click<

Recently we held a poll >here< which basically confirmed that people were losing interest in MotM as it was a "popularity contest" etc.

Depending on your guys' response, it will continue or it will not.

Here are the options:

Option 1:

Member of the Month is a feature of Sythe Monthly.
We, the CDT, choose two members each month to be awarded the title of Members of the Month.
Obviously, reasoning would be given as to why.

These two members:

• Receive permenant MotM mini-ranks
  
• Receive the Member of the Month fun-rank for the month it was awarded, it is then removed when the next Sythe Monthly is published

Option 2:

Member of the Month ceases to exist. There is no Member of the Month, only the Sythe awards at the end of each year.​

Option 1. No doubt. MoTM is a great addition to sythe and i feel it really needs to stay.

 

I say keep it - gives members a little something to hope for in their time involved in the community.

 

Option 2 for me.

However I do really hate the fact it's mainly a popularity contest.

 

Hopefully us choosing members for legitimate reasons should help that

 

I'd like it to stay however hopefully it can become more so no one is influenced by other people to vote for someone. Aka sending votes through PM.

 

Option 2. It's pointless to hell anyway, the end of year Sythe Awards are all we need.

 

Keep it how it is, because i still want to win atleast once

 

Option one for sure, and I agree that the decisions should be pmed.

 

Keep option 1 but make it people PM you their votes.
Or something similar like staff choose 5 people they think deserve it and it goes to a community vote.

 

Option 1. I would hate to see it totally go

 

With PM voting you still get the same people over and over and it's still the popular members that just get re-voted. We tried anon voting once and it didn't make much of a difference. Hence why it isn't an option

 

Don't see why it should be removed really, perhaps it's completely useless but I assume there are some who are motivated by it and would put some effort into trying to be a good member for the community in order to hopefully be awarded with MotM.

 

Opt. 2

It's completely and utterly useless.

E.g - Spammer of the month??

 

It wouldn't be categories. As said above, just 2 members of the month.

 

Keep it how it is now. Just have it so you an only win once every 6 months or something like that.

 

That makes it slightly better then I guess. I still don't like the permanent MoTM minirank aspect of it though...
