As resets are becoming more prominent, I think we need a better way to combat resets by discussing how they occur and keeping an updated list of the well-known accounts, tricks, and IP addresses Jagex moderators use.

Signs of trading a J Mod

• Asks for your RSN right off the bat
• Sells you gold for almost any price you state
• Obscure amounts such as 64M and 284M

Precautions to Take

• Ask for the person's PayPal first and see if it's real
• Trade from a decoy account first if you're unsure
• If you can get their IP, make sure it's not a Phone or Corporate IP

As much as I agree with what you're doing, Grave, I do believe that their IP addresses remain undisclosed as it does contradict the practices' of Sythe whereby the IP address' of members remain hidden.
Just an opinion, but great stuff.

 

I don't think Jagex employees and those associated with them are members of Sythe, and I obtained the addresses from my website, not Sythe. Many large sellers have websites that can detect IP addresses so this will help them stay safe.

Also, how did you know that J-mods were on your website?

 

When I worked for R2P, we had a jmod try to hit us almsot every day. We even spoke directly to Mod Weath in the live chat and it was quite hilarious how ignorant he was. I agree with Graves approach on determining a jmod. They are very frank with their trades. I even got hit with a manual perm ban thanks to being snared in their "trap". I remember seeing mod emily, some random player and mod Weath dance around my player before my ban. They act so cocky. The best advice is to get their RSN first and trade them via a throwaway account. I wish everyone luck. I will be on the lookout for them in future trades. Thanks for the heads up!

 

Hey, as a current JMod, I feel outraged and disgusted at the fact that you'd willingly post some of my accounts and some of my IPs on a public forum like this.

Expect a subpoena, you piece of filth.

 

I see no problem with posting these. This is a real issue and Sythe users are being targeted directly. We should do whatever we can to reduce their success.

 

Few months ago, maybe year ago my old friend who got Pmod status and applied for job in jagex used to buy small amounts of RSGP on polish auction sites to get sellers banned with Co-operation of JaGeX
His RSN is Warchief Lao , not sure if he got job in Jagex or not, he vanished

 

Some people just want to watch the world burn. They probably banned him haha.

Since when has Jagex gone through this much effort to ban Sythe sellers? When did this start?

What sort of proxies do they use?

 

There's aren't jMods, they're little kids, who think they'll have a better chance at getting pmod by doing this, they go to the sites after getting permission from a jmod, and after getting the RSN, pass it off to the jmods.

If you google their names, you'll notice their posts on the Runescape forums, they're part of "Mod Weath's Fanclub"

Also they don't use proxies

Great idea for a thread.. Can't contribute anything at all but I wish you luck and hope that this list gets filled up.

 

The IP comes back as being located in Brisbane Australia, and using Vodafone internet, which is quite a weird service provider to go with.

Any way, basically showing it is Jagex just getting there little bitches to do the hard work for em.

 

Add 'Ariane Sweet', 'Emily' and 'Vanpires' to the list.

Had Mod Weath login next to me while selling once, ditched the account and warned the buyer.. I'd also advise NOT trading in worlds such as 41, 43, 61, 7 and 11 as their closely watched by J-Mods. Yet to receive a ban the seller hopped world not sure how they managed to hold onto the stock.

 

This is disturbingly lol.. They seem to go an extra mile these days.

I can confirm that Emily is either a JMOD or is friends with one. She used to come into a flowering fc that I was ranked in and mute our bot that spammed the rules in the fc. She was very cocky about it too.

 

Jagex uses the range 212.44.0.0/16 to browse websites (at the Jagex office)...

You'll notice a lot of 'bluesocks'.. That's because whoever it is(I believe it to be Mod Harriet), use it ALOT on different websites.
