My personal opinion - banned. Why? Because there has been an increase in scam reports just in the last few days people have been dicing for money/gold. It brings no real good to the community. Yes people can choose who they dice with and it's their own fault if they get scammed. But why not eliminate the potential before it happens. Sythe mods already have enough reports and questions to deal with currently. Why allow this new potentially large problem?

Discuss.

So should we stop people trading accounts because there's lots of reports?

It brings some good in activity, fun and what have you

This. Aside from the fact that I just lost 50 $ on my first go at dicing lol, it brings in increased activity, which is the main objective of any forum.

It needs a more efficient system. The current system allows people, lose, take the ban and then create a new account.

Dicing needs to be confined to one section, it needs to be moderated and it needs some sort of anti-scamaccount prevention.

Like any other trade on the site, though, you should avoid people you don't trust - then these things don't happen

Maybe there should be a entry requirement for people to be able to post in this section?

Very true. I think in the rules you have in place on the new dicing thread, you could promote people to use Middleman's for non-cash trades.

Just like any other trade on Sythe, use common sense and you'll be fine. If an entry requirement was made to post in a confined dicing section, does that mean we are going to create a post count limit for the rest of the marketplace? No, it'd limit activity, and it's silly.

How can you come out and say it should be banned, when you've actively participated in dicing since it's come out? Pretty hypocritical of you...

Also, if we're actually going to talk about why it should be banned, it should be due to the fact Sythe is promoting gambling amongst minors; not because it's causing more scam reports.

I don't see anything hypocritical about him trying to aid in improving something he enjoys on the site. Anyways, you have to remember this site is a blackmarket, why should we limit ourselves from providing a dicing service.. It very much resembles what happens throughout the marketplace.

Ye id say there needs to be some sort of anti scam prevention also. Yes it does attract a load of members but if everyone is getting scammed whats the point ya know, but ye.

There are some good factors of dicing, it's a way for the community to interact and play against each other. But other then that, I just predict a flood of people scamming and yes you're right about it promoting gambling amongst minors, very valid point.

Not sure if srs or just newfag...

dicing brings indeed loads of community, new traders and extra fun
but also brings more scammers, more evaders

it has it's ups and downs tho

I think it should be accepted. It brings in new people, it sounds like fun and generates more traffic.
Why not put a limit of some sort on it? For example that you'd need atleast 200 posts, or need to be a donor or something. That should limit the very easy scams and people trying to get a few bucks fast. :)

I can understand your point of view, but there is potential to scam in many scenarios within the black market. The rise in activity has been good, no support from me man.

Firstly, remove it from the Donor lounge and grant it it's own subsection/section under sand box. Have it moderated, and have a quota bet system.

I.E, your first dice bet can be a max of $10, second $15 and so on. Could also apply time limitations to reach a second tier allocation and what not. Just spitting what comes to mind.

If people just refuse to dice with people they don't trust, such as newcomers with 5 posts, then there won't be much scamming. Bottom line is that you need to use the same precautions here that you would in a regular trade.

lol... Someone untrusted scams you $30, and now it has to be banned? Let's just ban trading altogether, way too many scams.

The only thing i'd like changed is having a dedicated section for dice games since atm the sandbox and donor lounge are being spammed with these.

Yeah this has been denied since it would "promote gambling" but would making a section called "Dice games" really be that much of a legal risk? I mean we already have a ton of threads related to gambling on the site so I don't see how this is too different.

No, no, no, no, no and No.

I really like the idea of being able to dice and I think it adds something interesting to do here. It needs to be handled just like any other trade where you practice extreme caution when dealing with newcomers. Having a post requirement or donor requirement is stupid because that implies that someone is more or less trusted based on their post count or them having a easily attainable $5 donor status.

The fact that there are "a lot of people getting scammed" is stupid. Should craigslist shut down because its infested with scammers? Should we close the gold market because there is a potential for people that throw out safe trading habits to be scammed? Any section/addition to the site that involves real money being traded comes with a risk, you just have to accept that and trade as safely as possible.

Oh, and did I say no support? ;)

Also because people here are intelligent I'm sure people will figure something out, maybe bitcoin dicing becomes a very common practice or dicing for rsgp or something similar with specialized MM'ing threads to tailor to these types of trades, who knows?
