Can I expect everything to be perfect right away?
At the beginning of March, RiD released his first Old School RS bots. Now 5 bots are online, with plenty more to come. Note that any free bot listed when you log into the Old School section of the bot are in beta. While they are just as safe as the premium versions, they may be prone to errors that cause them to quit randomly.
Which bots are currently available?
The Login Menu looks like this:
To use the Old School bots, just check the bubble next to 'Old School'
Currently the Bot Selection menu looks like this:
Bots will first be free (e.g. beta) and then later will be converted to premium (most of them).
Not quite yet, it's early days for RiD 2007 and there there will be a beta period where bots are free to use. If you prefer to wait till everything is perfect, check back later, when we'll have more bots available, updated user guides, and the bots will be running a lot better.
How do I download the 2007 bots?
All the bots, both EoC and Old School, are in the same download (just click the download button at the top of the forums), then simply select which type of bots you want on the bot interface. The bot auto-updates, so if you already have RiD on your computer just open it up and log in to get started.
What GFX settings do I need on RS?
Just set your brightness to maximum, and you'll be good to go.
Classic/Basic theme on Windows is no longer required!
What version of Java should I be using?
You should be using the newest version of Java 7. As of this post the newest is Java 7 Update 21. Be sure to uninstall all older versions of Java after updating. The newest version can be found here: http://www.java.com/en/
Supported Operating Systems (w/24-bit+ Color)
Mac OS X
You have just added small net fishing and it's not in the bot's guide yet, at which locations can I use small net fishing?
Search 'fishing spot' on runescape.wikia, they have a great article on all fishing spots, including small net fishing.
Where is the best location for RiDiverse?
Pest Control bank has no randoms in Old School Runescape, so that would be my best recommendation.
What do I do if I have a problem getting the bot up and running?
Read the entire instructions
, and follow everything there. The instructions page includes a link to the trouble-shooting section, which will be a bit help should you run into any problems.
Should I babysit in case I die?
For now, I would recommend that you keep an eye on your bot when you are in an area with randoms. Especially if you have a low HP level. Testing has shown good results dealing with aggressive npcs, but this may need further testing. So don't wear anything valuable in the meantime, when you leave the bot unattended for a long period of time. Also make sure your auto-retaliate is set to off, and that run mode is turned on. This will reduce the likelihood of deaths caused by random events.
How do I minimize the bot? (Same for ALL OSes)
Everything you need can be found in Adam's guide: How to Minimize Your Bot
Does it solve random events?
The bot solves ~80% of randoms, and more will be completed soon.
What is supported?
