YouTube Safety

I have a few questions regarding YT safety.

1. Is it possible for a youtube account to get recovered? Assuming I am not careless, are there certain methods I should be aware about to protect my YT account from a recovery/hack? How common are youtube hacks?

2. Is it possible for someone to get my IP through youtube or a youtube channel?

3. Anything else I should worry about if I have a YT account/channel?

 

Peoples YouTube's only get hacked when they open a message in their YouTube message center and they get bugged, drive by, etc.

As long as you don't have an easy password and use a secure email (gmail) you'll be fine.

 

Any other opinions?

 

I've heard about a lot of people getting hacked... The thing is except if you mention too much information about yourself on that channel, you should be good. You gmail or hotmail should be safe thought, and a good way to keep it safe is creating a new one and assigning it to that channel (if it is still actually possible, haven't logged-in on YT in a while).

Well like said above just provide a ton of information. Also get to know the community so then they can help you if you get hacked. I even think you can get your phone number registered to YouTube now so look out for that and you should be just fine.

 

1. If you have an extremely hard password to guess, and a safe computer you will be fine. No one will ever recover a gmail.

2. It is not possible to get your IP through youtube.

3. I don't think there's anything you need to worry about.


You would like to open a yt channel or what? =)
