Your thoughts on the 1.8 "towns"

Well im sure we have all seen the new "towns" that are scattered across new minecraft worlds. Although they are empty, notch is promising quests and npc's soon.

As for now what do you think of the designs of the towns? I just destroy them for wood and other materials, but I think they are a little to simple. They should be more detailed and less easy to destroy, what do you think?

A mod was made before 1.8 called "Minecolony" it featured almost the same buildings as this. It also had NPCs as well but was quite buggy. Anyway, they may make bigger more complicated buildings, I think it could be like having your own little town and make part of Minecraft a bit like a city builder game.
