Your thoughts on rs2006.net

I've donated money to the new server because to me this server seems pretty legit. After the hacking of the site I've felt a little iffy about it. Not asking for rants and using names but what are your opinions on this massive server... Think it's legit? I sure hope so..

 

I hope Jagex decides to sponsor it in some way.

Yes it was hacked into but not for long everyone had to change there pass to be safe..

 

I have full support for the website they are working long for it so it would be awsome !!

 

I really hope they are successful. But the day it goes online it will most likely get ddosed to death by competitors.

 

It's safe, and going to be a awesome game.
I'm looking forward to it, the time and effort the developers put into the game means it's going to be great.
It's safe to donate, so many people already have, and so many have registered, this can't be fake.
Only thing I'm worried about is JaGeX, they already had to change their domain to www.2006scape.com.

 

First couple weeks will be ddosed fest I'm sure of it...

 

I would also be worried about the opening weeks, other then that I think the server on will be great compared to the time spent.

 

i've donated but i pretty much guarantee it won't last longer than a month at best. Jagex mods have stated ingame when asked about it that they have "plans" for it which i would presume means they will have it shut down.

 

I'm on staff there (not releasing name for obvious reasons, sorry.) and our site was compromised by the owner of a blackhat community that is associated with RuneScape hacking and exploiting. We've recently changed the name to 2006scape.com after a JaGeX moderator got in contact with our lead developer about the matter. We've also hired an attorney that specials in video game copyright and infringement lawsuits. We've also vamped security measures to near maximum capacity, and we have a FULL dox of the perpetrator. We've contacted his school, local authorities, and parents. Everything dealing with the website is safe and we're looking forward to launching pre-alpha in the coming weeks.

Jagex already stated that it will not last. They probably have plans.

 

I hope that jagex will help them out in a way so everyone can be happy

 

I don't think Jagex will let them stay open for long, Effectivly it's jagex's game as the creators of RuneScape overall.
