I hope the idiot in the post doesn't get any money. That bike is not worth $4k, and motorcycle insurance is really cheap, you can get a plan for $70 A YEAR. If this guy has the possibility of dying, why bother getting anything better than minimum coverage? I doubt he'd be able to get any health coverage with his condition regardless.

 

You have problems I have problems everyone has problems. I'm probably in a worse (mental-wise) state than you will ever be. I don't make begging threads on forums, I suck it up and go out and find a job and earn money to live.

Go find a job, earn money and then you buy your bike. If your illness prevents you from working in certain environments, there is a job for everyone out there.

That's the bluebook value for the bike. What you can expect to pay giving the low and average would be $2,100 for a good condition bike.

 

That doesn't show experience, or the fact that insurance companies wont even look at you if you dont have your G2,G and years of driving under your experience, they can't say no to you so they usually make the price so outrageous that you dont pay, my friend tried getting his M1 when he was 16 but couldn't because he was being quoted over $4000 a year which was more than his bike even cost, now he is 18 and has taken driver safety courses and has gotten his G and is still being quoted above $3000. Please lol if you wanna act smart call and get a quote and i'm sure ill see your post deleted.

 

Of course you need your license, that's not hard nor is it really an obstacle. You can get that covered for $300 total here. Those insurance rates were for a new driver with a motorcycle license. Absolutely no problem. If you want, you can go to the same site and check it out. As for being 16, of course that'll be a problem but at 18 that should be nothing. $4,000 a year is unheard of.

You're still -trying- to make me seem like an idiot, and trying to make it seem like you know it all, but I'm speaking out of experience. I ride motorcycles, and have done so for a while. I've never been quoted such an outrageous price, not even when I was new. So there's me, a licensed, insured motorcycle driver who has bought his own bikes, or some guy who hasn't bought a bike, clearly doesn't know about market prices of bikes, doesn't have a license, and doesn't have insurance. Your location says you're in Canada, and I've been told that it is illegal to drive two-wheeled vehicles during winter, so that surely shouldn't be a reason for any exorbitant prices. Why would I even call insurance places when there are so many I can do online. That quote is a buyable quote, all I have to do is click buy and I'd have the policy and I would be covered, of course after I provide the VIN number and more personal information.

So, $2,100 + $300 + $77 = $2,477 total. If you don't believe that, then give me $8,500 and I'll give your buddy the bike with insurance on it, and the money for motorcycle classes. I can do it all personally since there's so much money left over. Of course, I'd hope he gets a helmet, jacket, etc. which will not total the remaining $5,000, although I don't think he mentioned that anywhere, he will need to buy gear, especially for offroad use. You can get a decent setup for $500-$700, it won't be anything special, but you can certainly get a full setup for less.

 

Why did you make such a big waste of a post you're such an idiot. I live in the GTA in Ontario We have one of the highest insurance rates in all of canada in Parts like Brampton, I think we actually do have the highest insurance rate. Now don't post again pulling numbers out of your ass lol.

From $77 to $4000 year is quite a difference, even for the "highest insurance rates." Again, motorcycle insurance is cheap.

I'm not posting any personal information online, nor am I sending it "privately" to anyone. I'd end up blurring the whole license, which I could easily do with an image from Google. I can also edit a picture of a motorcycle a bit to make sure it doesn't show up on reverse image searches. Those won't prove anything. I have multiple bikes, yes, but again I'm not showing any of them online. I'm not googling anything, I went to the website and got a quote. As I said in my last post, I didn't realize you weren't in the U.S., which is where I thought this was all happening. So, move to the U.S. and THEN we can do this again baby. Even with a full M license in Canada you still pay crazy amounts. I managed to get a Canadian quote for $1.7k using a full M license online.. which is insane.

My point still remains, tell the guy to only use the bike in the U.S. Money saved!
