    Xombi's Guide to Alt Codes

This is my third guide today :D I'm in a helpful mood and tired of seeing people ask these common questions. So, here is my third guide, How to make alt codes.

*Note - I wrote every word of this guide but one of the pictures does not belong to me.

Alt codes are the strange symbols you see in foreign languages such as the accent in Spanish, the yen symbol of currency, and just some fun little characters.

It's quite simple to make an alt code really, it's just hard to remember what each code does.

Step One - Enable Number Lock.

Step Two - Hold down the 'alt' key

Step Three - While holding down the 'alt' key, hit the corresponding numbers on the number pad (on the right of your keyboard) to the symbol you want.

Step Four - Release the 'alt' key

Here is a list of the common alt codes.

You say only one of the pictures arn't yours..even though the keyboard pictures have white backgrounds.. I knew how to do this already but it helped me out with the alt code I needed! Nice guide I was just messing with you about the pictures. Maybe you should add some color? :p

Well, the original isn't mine, but I outlined :p So I claim it as mine. Used to be a full keyboard, but I cut out the useless keys.

What do you suggest I color? I'm not too good with coordinating colors.

Isn't every guide? I know this is all over the internet, but it's not on Sythe and I've seen this question asked dozens of times. I figured it would be nice to post, in detail, with pictures, a guide on how to do this. Sorry if I offended you by posting something that has been done elsewhere before.

^ I hate people that say that. But anyway, I would bold your steps and just use red or something. And maybe create a title at the top with yourself claiming ownership.

I think he did make it before you but his edit time is way after yours. It isn't ripping because you didn't copy him word for word and imo yours is more detailed.

So you're saying I copied your guide, and made it the first section of mine? No...My guide was written two hours before yours was. I made a couple edits today, like removing the part about tvlinks, but the rest I wrote at 10 PM.

10pm when? And your section isn't as detailed as mine. They are two completely different guides. You don't even list the common codes. If you have an issue with my guide, I'll gladly take it down if someone from the UE team deems it unfair.

It's helpful to name your guides based on what they're about. I did the right thing and searched the forums before posting.

Look at the time your guide was posted, then mine. I'm not saying you should take yours down, or that I should. I don't have the common codes listed on the guide but I do provide a link to them. Keep your guide up, it's good, and I'll keep up mine.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I didn't really see a guide anywhere showing this and I was in a productive (and bored) mood, so I went on a guide spree.
