[Xbox360] E79 Error?

I took this from my other thread at another forum, so just assume that I edited it.



Hey guys, I recently got my Xbox repaired by one of my friend's uncles as my 360 had the RROD and I didnt feel like shelling out $100 for another warranty, he fixed it up but now randomly I get a E79 Error, it happens like after I play Fallout 3 for a certain amount of time (I've been boosting this guys Gamerscore for $10 ). I looked on google and it says it's a hardware failure and E79 means its the hard drive.. I disconnected the hard drive and it still pops up so I doubt my Hard Drive is buggered. Does anyone know what could cause this and if possible any remedy's besides buying a new 360?



Update: I saw something on google that by holding down the white button on your console while booting, it would remove any faulty updates that could of caused the error. I did this but now the Xbox will just turn on, with no red light, however the controller will not connect to it, and the image will not appear on the screen, it's basically like a computer without a monitor, mouse or keyboard. So you dont know whats going on, any ideas how to fix? Or is my Xbox just going to go in the trash?
