    XBOX Handheld?

i'd be hard-pressed to see something come from microsoft that can equal or better the PSVita. the Vita is pretty incredible in itself...

PSP didn't really fail, it just didn't do better than the Gameboy. Nintendo has always topped anything Sony and Microsoft bring out. They are smart mother fuckers.

I doubt Microsoft is coming out with a handheld, because people have been talking about not just that, but the "Xbox 720" for quite some time now, and there's nothing of that out either. I think it's a hoax truthfully, and I doubt that even if Microsoft made a handheld it would even be able to compete with the Playstation Vita or 3DS.

I honestly think if they were to make one they would have by now. They might be waiting for the new Xbox, but I highly doubt it.

I don't think much will happen. The Mobile (Most iOS and Android) markets are prospering and most people can't be bothered to purchase a handheld when they can just get games on there phone. That's my opinion at least.

Brendan brings up a good point. If Microsoft was to create a handheld, it would have to be graphically intense, almost recreating console gameplay and controls. People don't really look for that type of gameplay, because if they wanted to sit down and play a game for 3-4 hours at a time, the would use a console. When I have time to play something handheld, I can just whip out my phone and play some $1-$5 game for 10-15 minutes and then move on. I feel like Nintendo handheld products are so successful because they kind of adapted the "don't need to spend 2 hours playing to make progress" mindset. I can sit down, play pokemon for 30 minutes, actually accomplish something, and then move on.

Exactly. Gameboys were also at there peak when mobile phones weren't as popular, so games like pokemon flourished with kids when they were on the go, because if they did have a mobile, the best they could really do was snake. These day, most 10 year olds in my sisters grade have iPod touches and stuff, and when they become teenagers they all have Android phones or iPhones.

I hope not, as it would be a huge flop.

Graphics aren't everything also. Look at the Game Boy and Sega Game Gear. The game gear has vastly superior graphics compared to the Game Boy, but due to factors such as battery life the Game Boy was more successful.
