    Xbox Case Modding

Heres a writeup with pictures of the Xbox 360 case mods I am planning on doing. I may possibly be modding my Nintendo Wii or Playstation 3(Most likely not its a beauty on it's own) in the future, if so I will add that to this thread aswell. Thanks for looking!

    So far I have purchased:

1x RED LED Mod, XMC Core Cooler Fan CPU
1x GREEN Talismoon Cooling Whisper Fan
1x BLUE Aurora Tuning Vent Lighting Kit
1x XMC B. Q. Cover for DVD Drive
    1x Barebone Ghost Case Clear
1x Talismoon Air Tube(Duct Tunnel) Crystle Clear

1x GREEN El Wire with battery Driver, have an idea for this one(not using -$9)
    1x Afterglow Controller, BLUE

$138 worth of mods, and I will be installing them all myself when they are shipped to me, hopefully keeping this thread updated with pictures if anyones interested. Please do not post "hate". Most all of my parts are bought off of ebay.

    My Gamertags:

    - GhilliSuitRogue (Main)
    - My BRs Shaky

Today I got the DVD Drive cover, Xcm Core Cooling fan, and the Whisper fan. Waiting on the Blue Aurora Lights kit then I'll put that in and reassemble the Xbox.

I had to cutt off some of the mounting brackets to make it fit because my xbox has the extra heat sinks. It fits in there pretty snug without them though and I can always superglue it in.

New AFTERGLOW Controller I bought, its got blue Led lights in it.

Orange painted XMC DVD Drive Cover(MUCH easier to paint than the grates! And it looks like a cleaner paintjob)

Orange & Black Camoflauge Memory Card Covers(Clear Glossy Finish coat over them, wouldn't recomend painting them if you use a memory card)

Painted the ROL cover, should have waited longer for it to dry when I went to put it in I smudged some paint but I don't really care because its barely noticeable and going to to behind lots of plastic so you wont even see it.. (Suggest doing no more than 2 thin coats on these)

Finished - I messed up my Dvd drive though, it wont spin games, I'll have to take it apart again

Looks much cooler at night when it glows*

I'll throw up a video sometime when I fix the DVD drive but as of right now I'm in no hurry because it was driving me nuts when the thing wouldn't fit back together easily. Anyways when I get around to it, Ill fix it and eventully put a video on youtube.

Will do, when the last lights come in from Hong Kong I can finish it up. Possibly even a youtube video so it can really be see. Wish I painted the DVD Drive before I put on the top of it, might even do that tomorrow. Thanks for the compliment!

Might get one of those, I have a fan intercooler for the back that i don't use, I think the base ones look kindof goofy though

Wow! That looks wicked cool all lit up, really like it.

How did you learn to do all of that by yourself?

This was my first time stumbling into this section of the forums haha.

Thanks, and I found lots of tutorials on youtube. Also some where I bought the parts. This site helped me out a lot too:

    http://www.ghostcase.com/hex/index.php/xbox360install

Its fairly simple, it just requires some time and you could mess up a lot of stuff if you mess around with the inside in spot where it isn't required, lol. I used spray paint that sticks on metal, wood, and plastic for the metal and plastic parts I painted highlighter orange. I mixed that with some black spray paint to paint the memory card covers, then a glossy coat over it which made it look much nicer. Lots of people use all of the same color lighted parts too, but I wanted my box to be unique. Feel free to PM me with some questions if you have any, I can link you to videos which really help. I suggest waiting untill your Xbox's warrenty runs out too because when you open it up it voids that*

I have modded my Xbox case. I broke open one of the CD things that hold the discs and automatically put them into the disc drive. I am attaching this to my Xbox. With a couple weeks time, I could make it so I never have to get up to change my disc again.
As for the coloration, it is extremely trivial to me. I don't see the point, as I won't be looking at the Xbox while I'm playing, I'll be looking at the game itself.

Looks awesome, nice work. When you 'modded' it , did you just change the appearance or is it able to host modded lobbys etc?

It doesn't really have a point, I did it to make it look cooler. And I did it out of the pure enjoyment of putting it together, and to impressed my friends. The DVD Drive mod you put together sounds neat, you should consider putting together a thread about it.

Appearance, what your talking about is called JTAGing, thats a risky way to get your xbox banned from live, especailly if you host the lobbies. And I have downloaded the summer of 09 dashboard update which prevents you from being able to jtag I believe. It requires some sodering but let me know if you want a link to a tutorial to do it. I almost did on an old xbox I had.

The link I provided further explains the meaning of JTAGing an xbox
