About employment listings.

Would it be possible to allow making a thread to represent you service/company that is hiring people rather than having to post in the employment enlisting thread?

Because let's be real, almost no1 looks in that thread.
And it's not like the whole market discussion part of Sythe forums will get spammed by companies wanting to hire people.

Any opinions?

 

3.4k isn't "No1 looking"

 

The forum was spread with people trying to hire other people thus is why the thread was made and all other threads shut down. It makes sense and it's justified. It was also before your time (I think)


And UPS is not a exception to the rule, which is why the thread was locked.

 

Threads get more attention, you can display the company in the title, you can give more imformation, you can bump the thread and such.
It's more convenient and 3.4k views isn't a lot in 6 months if you ask me.

 

Not saying anyone should get an exception, I just think they should give it another shot ( allowing people to make threads).

 

Discussing the market and looking for/hiring employment are two different things.

Employment threads spammed the forum, hence the creation of the sticky. It should stay as it is.

 

It kinda is. I mean, I have a thread that's been up for barely a month and it has 1.7k views =\

 

Considering that your thread is in Dice Competitions where a lot of people view it in search of free shit from the dice comp and the employment is in Market Discussions (a less active forum) they cant really be compared.

 

IDK but the thread has been up for 6 months and that's a long time, but I understand where you're coming from. I personally wouldn't mind supporting a sub-forum in the off topic like maybe under GD or even a sub-forum for market discussion.

 

Employment listings isn't big enough for a sub-forum in my eyes I don't see the problem with how it is at the moment.

 

The problem is that it looks like a normal sticky with just some information ( barely anyone reads those) , you also can't really bump it, etc... .

 

That thread has gotten 3400 or so views in 6 months, thats about 19 people viewing it PER DAY.

This thread has gotten 74 views in 3 or so hours.

In comparison, NO ONE reads that sticky. In fairness establishedbusinesses should be able to have separate threads so people can actually see that they're hiring.

To reduce spamming, like i said above, it should be separate threads for established businesses, what's considered an established business? That's up-to the staff to decide.

 

I suggested a sub forum for it, and I still think to this day that it's better than a thread listing because it would allow others to create their own thread.

Superman thought a thread listing was better, thus the creation.

 

Thread listing are seriously annoying. Nobody wants to look through pages of the thread not knowing whether or not the person is still interested. That's why individual threads are much better since you know who is active, online, and wants a specific service. For example I hate the name request thread. It's never accurate or up to date, a name request sub forum would be much better considering there are dozens of requests at one time.

Stickies bad.
Threads good.

All it takes is a simple subforum.

 

If you guys really want a subforum you should private message Roary or FireZ to make one under Market Discussion. (I think it's a fine idea)

What do you suggest as a solution? because it needs to be fixed.

 

I agree that the stickied thread is not ideal, I would support a subforum
