I have many great ideas and i've written many pages. Should I try to finish this novel i've been working on for weeks now and possibly get it published? Or maybe just start some sort of e-book series to dip my foot in the water?

Any input? Thanks :)

I'd like to read some of what you got and maybe provide some critical feedback.

Awesome! I'm actually still caught up in perfecting some parts of it. I want at least the first part of the novel to be finished before i get it butchered by anyone hah. Not sure if you are a fan of dark realism but that is kind of where i'm going with it. If you don't mind I want to keep you added on the note pad on my computer and I'll send you some in a few days :)

Thanks!

Publishing as an unknown is damned near impossible. You really need writing credits before the majority of publishers will even read the first sentence of you work and consider publishing it. That being said what genre and what is your word count goal? I might be able to provide some critique.

You should post the 1st chapter. It would be cool to read. Instead of going the publisher route put it on amazon ebook/itunes/android markets.

P.S this is why we nees a literature section, one can only dream.

This is what I was afraid of. Although i feel as if regardless how far the novel goes the fact I finished it and am happy with it is all that matters to me.
My word count goal is unknown as of now, i plan to stop around 200-250 pages though. Dark Realism, fiction. Ill keep you added on my notepad also :) I want to perfect some things before i realize some.

A literature section would be amazing, I've read so many great books that I would love to talk about! I never thought of going the itunes/ebook route until i actually posted this on sythe. That seems like the best way to get my foot in the door :) Thanks so much!

Be aware that if you're going to try and get published it is standard to get around 80 - 120k. Also Dark Realism isn't a genre of fiction. Realism was a movement of literature the emphasized the accurate portrayal of life.

i suggest you go to writingforums (google it) and get more information from there. The users there will probably be more knowledgeable in this area

Do you have any knowledge in the realm of fan fiction? I always thought it would be cool to write a fan fiction.

Maybe I am an elitist here, but I think fanfiction writers are mostly hacks.

Ehh kinda true lol. It could be a good way to get your feet in the water though.
