wow or guild wars 2?

looking to get into a new game for late night messing around. are either of these 2 games decent to start in 2018? as in never played them before till i chose 1 will i be ok or so far behind im screwed?

 

Can't comment on the endgame in GW2, but WoW's endgame is constantly being updated, so you're never too far behind to start out since new content is right around the corner anyways.

Try out both of the starter editions and see which game feels better. Imo, WoW is the 'perfect' MMO, it just does everything so well. That being said, I do believe GW2 does things better, and if you're casually playing you may end up just having more fun with GW2. Guild Wars 2 Account Types: Free, Core, HoT & PoF ArenaNet basically allows you to play the entire game for free so I'd say give it a shot. WoW does have a starter edition, but it's only free until level 20 which typically only takes about two hours and you don't really get a feel for the game until you're level 40-60 or so and you start to really unlock key abilities for your class.
