Would you leak it?

I would use it until I had my fill then sell the method for a decent amount.

I wouldn't give a fuck about what would happen to the game/economy.

I made my money, and quit.

 

This is the key to actually find out if Jagex can really sue you with messing with their game.

OT - i'd suck it dry for everything it has and not tell.

Anyways, on topic, I would probably tell a couple close friends after I used it for a little bit(to at least get done what I planned), then they could leak it all they want.

 

if there was any method that only I knew that gave me an insane advantage over everyone there is absolutely no way I would tell anybody.

 

Id probably let some close IRL friends in on it, and we'd do it together.

I don't understand why this is even up for debate. Who'd rather kill their money method than use it?

 

I would keep it and sell the things I made to support my self in real life.

 

I would basically make a living off it until it was patched, wouldn't leak it to anybody.

If I could duplicate money, I would simple spread around 500B throughout accounts, sell it off with a gold shop.

 

I think I would tell a real life friend of mine who plays RS, and maybe my little brothers. But I wouldn't tell anybody ingame that I couldn't beat the living fuck out of if they started spreading it throughout the game.

Also - Regarding the PHAT duplication glitch back in RSC, apparantly the player who came forth and offered to teach Jagex how the glitch worked in exchange for lifetime membership, actually got BANNED from Runescape instead of being "rewarded". I read that awhile ago when I was doing some research on the famous phat-dupe, and I will try to look around for the info and playername and post here when I find it.

 

I found one of the quotes I had read before stating that the person who came forward and revealed the glitch to Jagex was subsequently banned, not rewarded.

Highly unlikely RS will last more than 10 years.. 10 years oh membership is like $800... You would make much more selling it. If you weren't stupid and slowly sold it off after "laundering" it you would be much safer.

 

The 'duplication' bug was real, and this was Jagex's acknowledgement of it: http://services.runescape.com/m=news/item-bug-fix-updated

It's worth noting that the above announcement states there were less partyhats in circulation than in the previous year. Unless they were lying, presumably Jagex had deleted a number of hats and/or crackers from the database to remedy the problem, without having to resort to a roll-back.

On topic: To answer all of the questions, I would take full advantage in any one of those scenarios for my personal gain, and tell no one about any of them. I see no advantage in telling anyone about those types of secrets. I also wouldn't tell Jagex, even if they offered me anything in exchange for information; I don't trust that they would hold up their end of the deal, considering they would have no legal obligation to.

Anyways, like most said id get my cash, stash it away from the eyes of jagex.

But I'd also spread the love around if I got it for nothing, not saying i'd give out my secrets but I'd be dropping money all over RS. Make a few kids week or something nice.
