Would Sythe ever get an app?

Would Sythe ever get an app to make it easier for users to access the website on mobile devices so when we are out and about we can receive notifications when someone is contacting us through the forums or maybe even just a notification when we can bump our posts? Has staff ever thought about this or similar ideas?

 

You can set it so that you get emails for new posts and conversations. There's no need for an app for that kind of stuff.

For some people it would be really convenient I think I would really appreciate it if it would happen I get the majority of requests when I am out of the house and I would love for something to make it more convenient to me to contact people

In what way would an app be more convenient than using Sythe in a mobile browser?

 

Sythe could generate a large income from an APP.

Can u imagine if he allowed gold sites to buy app advertising for like $250/month and sold to 4-8 rotating gold sites(like a 1/4-1/8 chance that ur ad pops up in a pop-up while browsing when u 1st load it or something).

All U'd need to do is make it compatible with the current banner system(U guys cant see it but there is one, Sythe manually approves people).

Using Sythe on mobile isn't the best idea. You could leave it on/logged in while going outside or to stores.

Before you know it you open your browser/app while connected to public wifi and have a matching ip with some user.

Why can't you mobile sythe? It does have an appropriate mobile version..

Not really ideal to build a whole app just for notifications since the website is already (I believe) responsive on mobile. Developing an app is a serious time commitment.

@Bus369 he could implement any advertising infrastructure he wants to already on the website.

 

I don't think pop up ads like an APP would be an ideal advertising setup >.> on this forum lol, I think that'd be a quick way to kill it.

The app would certainly make pop up ads a viable advertising infrastructure.


Also imagine the exposure it would get in App stores if it got downloaded by a majority of sythe.

PPD(PAY PER DOWNLOAD)+ Pop up ads+ Exposure in the App stores may very well be worth the time spent developing it.

I can see the APP easily bringing in $10k-$20k in income a year bare minimum, let alone factoring in potential exposure + future ad possibility's.

Perhaps offer bonus sythe gold when using the APP to post or other similar things to promote it.

You are over exaggerating ad revenue. I've developed iOS and Android apps using iAD and Admob respectively and its crap, even before they take their commission. And Apple can be weird with integrating custom ads sometimes (it would have to get through their review process). What exactly do you think that can be done ad wise on an app that can't be done on the website? I'm not really understanding. The website is responsive so Sythe can probably mirror any idea you have on the mobile website anyway.

Also possibility of several assumptions that could be made about the accounts with the matching ip that may lead to a ban.

 

Why not sell pop up ads and whatnot to major traders on the APP?

Screw ad revenue from like apple or some crap, sythe would bank off those ads, we can bid on sythe app ads in the current bid system.

I gauruntee you if the app gets a decent usage compared to sythe(even 1/2 or 1/4), most gold sites(including myself) would pay $150-$300/month just to get a rotated pop up ad on the mobile app.

It probably wont drive tons of traffic but would be fantastic branding for sites.

I could see quite the bidding war going for 6-8 rotating pop up ads.

Can see it breaking easily $1k+ a month, not even touching any other avenues.

 

How many users do you think would use the app in its prime?

 

I'd say several thousand weekly or maybe even daily
