World Consolidation

Just brainstorming a bit, but I have been on maybe once or twice in the past week. The main problem I personally have with how it has changed, as it is extremely noticeable to me after an absence of over two years, is the lack of players in each world.

It's a lack of competition, that gets to me. Now I'm not one of those rs is dead bashers because I love the game and want to see it thrive. I'll play it in a world by myself until I max out just for the sake of completion, but I have an idea.

On average, aside from the penguin world and trade worlds, each world has about 250 to 400 players on at a time. The banks are vacant, skilling areas are vacant, it's weird to be honest.

I think all that needs to be done is the removal of certain worlds, where there are multiples or inactivity in activity designated servers. The removal of one world would approximately add 35 players to ten other worlds. Remove ten, and you could greatly improve activity across the servers.

This is just a brainstorm, if anyone wants to discuss it or act upon it and get it to Jagex, go for it.

 

There was a poll on worlds being condensed and it didn't pass.

So unfortunately it's probably not going to happen in the foreseeable future.

 

Your idea is logical but like bleed said the poll was done and it didn't pass (I don't understand why).

I just deal with the limited activity, it does have it's benefits for me though... E.g. when I don't want to see too many people , annoying people who beg constantly and skilling - e.g. easy to get a good place @ hellhounds and dragons as there is less competition.

 

I always unfortunately equate Runescape 3 to a largely single-player endeavor now. It sucks, but it's the reality.

It's only in World 2 that I get any sense of any kind of community.

Pretty depressing doing Slayer solo in vacant areas. Then you happen upon one or two people luckily but they're anti-social.

 

Having played WoW, I've been massively in favour of consolidation in the past, but with RS I don't really fancy it. I like having different populated worlds, and player interaction seems pretty dead anyway.

 

This, unfortunately, tears my idea to shreds.

Why would anyone favour thinner interaction? It defeats the purpose of an mmorpg.

 

I had thought of this as well - its a bit depressing to see so many locations turned into ghost towns on every world

 

Thats what happens when you put a highly addictive games in the hands of horrible developers.
