Windows Media Wont Work!!!!!

[yogee]

ok i have a big problem. I just downloaded hypercam and i was playing around with it when up pops this message that says windows media was not the current version. So i continue on and i download everything needed and restart is. After restarting my pc i click on windows media and it says i need to make sure that my version of windows is genuine so i run the test and it says i dont have a genuine version. So then i click the link that says validate your version, so then i click on it and while it is loading the page i loose connection and it exits out. so i click on windows media again and it and i do the whole verify thing again and the link isnt there. So now i cant use windows media.. what can i do to get the old version back or be able to use the new version?
