    Windows 98 PC System Restore
    Hi, I have a windows 98 PC. We never use it and right now I have been playing rs on my laptop. I want to use a desktop since I feel more comfortable when using one. The windows 98 PC has a lot of old stuff on it i would like to delete it all because as of now S.S. runs very slow on it and it lags so I can not play. I do not have any restore disks or anything and have never restored a computer before. What is the first step to take to clean everything off of this computer?

    Delete the partition on C:\ and install windows XP.

    ...Or if you want to keep Win98, just go into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and take off the stuff you need to take off.

    It would be hardly useful keeping an OS thats nearly a decade old (200 computer years).

    I actually suggest Win2k for a PC running Win98. Since yours does, it's probably ancient, so I actually wouldn't recommend XP.
