Will osrs rares ever go up?

Are they trying to keep the prices low by spawning so many "rares" into the game, like partyhats etc

 

No theyre useless. Jmods even specifically stated that they want rares to be junk on osrs.

 

Never.

Any holiday will result in them getting spammed into oblivion since when they were discussing rares brought back it was voted I believe to have them as garbage.

They used to be worth flipping by buying bulk before GE was out and then you'd sell sets for a significantly higher price than what you bought for but GE made that method non existent now.

 

I hope you didnt listen to that fake news spreader @A Broken Man yet... Might've made a loss otherwise.

Shame they spammed them, I and probably many others liked collecting 'rares' as such.. But that'll never happen on OS due to them spam spawning them.

 

I don’t think they’ll ever go up. I miss the glory days where a party hat was a college tuition in 07 lol. Now a party hat is less then a pack of gum. Such a shame. I remember losing a purple party hat I like 2008 and contemplating suicide ahhh the good ole days.

 

some rares go up near christmas time like the graph shows, but when the event happens they just spam the rares so everyone mass sells, so they don't ever stay high.

 

Sadly they are worthless forever.
I really would love to see them come back honestly.
I’ve considered making an RS3 acc just to have a Phat, they are so iconic.

 

Definitely Jagex did it Wrong af with the Rares in Oldschool.

Unfortunately they will never go up at a really interesting price as it happened with the Rares previously, because every year spam more and more of these objects, looking more like a private server than the original for me.

I doubt blues will even go up tbh.. They will most likely keep spawning them if they ever dramatically increase to avoid them being 'rare'.

 

No they will never go up lol. more then 10k will be spawned this xmas.

 

The issue Jagex had with making them un-obtainable after the event is that everybody knew that if they held on to them, they would accumulate value. It's not like back in the days when the original events were released - when there were only a handful of players at most thinking 5+ years in advance about their value.
